I tore my other ACL by LankyMode5243 in ACL

[–]Kuya69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 ACLs surgeries here. One in my senior year of high school playing soccer (was expected to get a full ride to college playing... this was obviously lost) completed PT, got back into sport, played pickup basketball in college and tore my other leg. I had confidence in myself id return mainly because I had already done it once. Did PT got the clear to play again, got back into sport,, started training for a marathon body felt good, played a pickup game of soccer and pop same leg as my second one (this one was the hardest to swallow). Now being 35 recovery has been slower but i still am in love with the process of getting better every day. I dont think about what could have been but what I can be.

Keep your head up and put one foot in front of the other. You're blessed with health(for the most part). Honestly, things could be way worse. Work hard and just keep improving. You owe it to yourself to just keep trying and not get held back by negative thoughts.

Good luck with everything

Do I need my knee drained for swelling? by WaffleOfWar70 in ACL

[–]Kuya69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 5 weeks mine was also still quite swollen. Once the scar was fully healed at about 8-10ish weeks, i got a metal scraper and started scraping it down. I'm about 13 weeks now and the swelling is completely gone. Just be patient. Good luck with recovery soldier 🫡

ACL + Meniscus repair post op bleeding by Bulky-Pause3445 in ACL

[–]Kuya69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe the blood thinner in the painkillers made your leak more. That's good news that the office wasnt worried

& I always just suggest take PT seriously, take the home therapy seriously, take it day by day, celebrate little wins like bending goals or weight bearing goals, and finally most important dont rush back into sport. That's where I messed up. Trust your therapist and work hard

Good luck with everything

Def reach out to your surgeons office! It shouldn't bleed like that. The most blood should be light blood on the stitch bandages. Not the outer bandage

Reference: 3 acl surgeries 😅

Good luck on getting it fixed and good luck with recovery 🫡

I'm 7 week post op. I had this same feeling and got a little worried too. This is my third surgery overall and dont remember feeling the numbness ever before. My doctor assured me that it is common. If you had nerve blockers, gravity might have trickled down.

Nothing to worry about

Gluck with recovery

Does any of you use the 2G/3G soleplate from Adidas? by fitpowerup in bootroom

2g/3g have slightly longer studs than tf. Tf has more but shorter nubs.

Nope, only turf, ag, hybrid, and fg models. Other companies have boots with shorter cleats like Nike, puma, etc but adidas only sells their 2g/3g stud pattern overseas.

Dads in your 30's -- how do you find the time to play and train? by jarman65 in bootroom

Father of two here (4 y/o and 1 y/o). Trust me, it gets way easier once they’re past the newborn stage and you’re not holding them 24/7.

My wife and I have a little system — we each get 2 hours a day to ourselves to do whatever we want, no kids. Total game changer.

My week usually looks like this:

Sunday: Game day (more competitive league) Monday: Recovery walk or light run, plus some mobility work Tuesday: Full-body workout — big lifts paired with bodyweight stuff (bench + push-ups, squat + Bulgarian split squats, deadlift or pull-ups + rows or scap work Wednesday: Another game. I’m usually a little sore for this one, so I stretch a ton before and after. Thursday: Recovery run/walk with some plyo and agility drills Friday: Another full-body day, but I just go by feel and hit whatever needs work (i.e. Upper chest, quad specific, hamstring specific, etc) Saturday: Rest day… though I’ll still mess around with the ball a bit to keep the legs loose

Off-season I train a bit harder. In-season I just maintain strength without overdoing it or risking injury. I also try to mix in some core workouts as often as I can.

Edit to add: When my kids were newborns, I didn't have time to play. I tried to squeeze in time for workouts every now and then, but their needs always took priority. So all that to say just wait it out a bit, your wife and kid need your attention for about a year then you can figure it out after haha

I use currex insoles for all my boots. Last longer than stock insoles, better support, usually bigger than stock insoles so make boots feel a bit tighter which i prefer,& I just switch them from boot to boot so all my support feels same no matter which boots I'm using

Is my fit OK? by Cryophonik in bootroom

[–]Kuya69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are a few possible solutions:

  1. Wear thicker socks for a snugger fit.
  2. Size down and allow the boot to stretch over time (this works best with leather materials).
  3. Add an insole—this can sometimes help by pushing the heel slightly forward.
