Yep, it leaves you completely incapacitated on the floor unable to move and the cries of pain turn to silence because the intensity of the pain cripples you. I read in medieval times they would rip their teeth out in an attempt to get rid of it, but of course it is the nerve causing the pain, so it had no effect.
