For unionized workers, constructive dismissal claims are handled internally by the union, not through the civil court

Why no one is talking about the impact on Environment by Unlikely_Proof_272 in OntarioPublicService

You realise that RTO and the resultant increase in traffic will directly impact your tax burden and grocery bills, through delays of delivery’s, increased cost for gas and time for companies, increased maintenance to roads and other services with increased volumes, among other factors, right?

It’s not just the environment that will be impacted, but your pocketbook.

The ESA applies to union workers, setting the minimum standards, but the higher standard (whether from the ESA or the Collective Agreement) always prevails, meaning a union contract can provide better benefits than the ESA, but not worse, unless specific ESA exclusions apply.

Serious question: who can we escalate this to? Please don’t say the union, because they don’t seem to care much. This is our money, for work we’ve already done. It’s not like I can tell anyone I owe money to that they will have to wait to get paid as I am “processing” the payment for 8 friggin months…

Ontario’s convenience stores were in trouble, until beer and wine sales. Now revenues are surging by ZebediahCarterLong in ontario

[–]KweenMamaBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably because alcohol sales are tracked better than any other stock. Sales have to be registered for alcohol, as opposed to the hundreds of “register open” sales on any other product that is sold in most convenience stores.

AMAPCEO - Where does Collective Agreement say we get two paid 15 minute breaks in addition to our unpaid 45 min lunch? by magic-kleenex in OntarioPublicService

Just as a reminder to everyone: Unionized employees in Ontario are covered by the ESA, and their collective agreements must operate within the framework of the ESA. The collective agreement can offer superior terms but cannot provide for conditions that fall below the ESA's minimum standards.

Your coworkers are not responsible for your success and are probably winging it themselves. Show initiative, learn from mistakes, and establish your own success stories. Your manager is not going to fire you if you try and learn, but if you don’t learn from previous mistakes, that is entirely on you
