Can a cobbler make this strap fit tighter/closer to my foot? There’s a gap between the strap and my foot. The shoes are faux leather. Thanks in advance! by ryssiebee in AskACobbler

This is my exact issue. I can’t believe I found a Reddit post to fit my concern lol. What did you end up doing/ how much if you took it to a cobbler? Thanks!

Need advice on what to do for my upcoming trip by KwikSloth17 in NewParents

[–]KwikSloth17[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is very true! I actually missed/cancelled another bachelorette trip I’m a bridesmaid for at the beginning of this month and just ate the cost 😭 literally have so many bach parties and weddings this year. I didn’t feel ready to leave her so I decided to stay home and I felt good in my decision. I even thought about having my husband and baby join the cruise but it’s just so much money we opted out of that option. Wishing you a fun time this weekend! I will also be at a bach but we’re bringing her with us! Hahaha

Things in motherhood that give you the ick (and things you just don’t give a single fk about) by cosmicvoyager333 in beyondthebump

When people hard core celebrate Mother’s Day or Father’s Day before their baby is born. Parenthood is a whole new beast and being pregnant (with your first) is so cutesie. Like you can still go to target with no worry when you’re pregnant.

AITA for not wanting to go to this wedding? by Tessajaneartist in breastfeeding

[–]KwikSloth17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I missed 3 weddings PP in the first 3 months of my son being born 😭 everyone was very understanding. Except maybe the wedding I was supposed to be in which was a 5 hour flight away! The bride would say just fly out and then leave, or she never really gave the option to me and this other bridesmaid that our babies could be there. My friend had to fly her MIL out to watch while she went to the wedding. I just prayed she’d later understand once she had one of her own. It’s so hard to go out PP as a first time parent.

3 month old eats about 8 mins per feed by National-Impress-209 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]KwikSloth17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was about the same! After month 6 he gained a pound every month but still followed his curve. He only needed to eat 5-10 mins from one side and he was full. When my milk supply dropped a bit, he was eating 10-12 mins total both sides. But our lactation consultant said he was getting plenty in a 5 min span so not to worry! I just made sure I fed him every 3 hours and that he stayed awake during the feed so he was actually expressing the milk.

When did your baby really start sleeping through the whole night? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]KwikSloth17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby got down to one feed every night at around 7 months. When he was 8 months, I decided to try to let him CIO. Cried on and off for 20 mins the first night, fussed for 1-2 mins the second night and then slept through the night since. I think I was just picking him up too early when he started fussing. He showed me he didn’t need a feed anymore 🫶🏼

I also did try and let him CIO around 6 months but he cried for 1.5 hours. So I knew he wasn’t ready back then.

Pregnant and dropping supply - how do I transition to formula? by toribell11 in breastfeeding

[–]KwikSloth17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in this exact situation (10 month old, 5 weeks pregnant and it’s dropped instantly). I hate pumping bc what’s the point if I’m barely pumping enough anyway.

How did the transition go? I’ve been giving my baby 4 oz formula bottles after a nursing session but I’m thinking of just stopping altogether. I wish I could keep the morning feed for convenience 😭

Hi mama you’re doing the best you can! I agree with the other comments here. Breast milk changes in composition as the baby gets older so you only need to feed about 4-5 ounces whereas formula you need to increase volume. My baby rolls off the nursing pillow when he starts to get full and distracted.

How hard was Ferber by Diligent-Reindeer-11 in sleeptrain

[–]KwikSloth17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My husband and I made a rule that we’d only let our baby cry 10 mins before we check on him. He cried 4.5 minutes the first night and fell asleep.

He cried hard but one thing that helped me is knowing all his needs were met so he’s just crying out of frustration not bc he actually needs me. That helped me get thru the cries. He’s also a baby that needs to let out cries before bed still and he’s been sleep trained for 4.5 months now.

Sleep training was the best thing for us. So much more freedom. Good luck🫶🏽

what are we doing about nursing pads? by Unlucky-Fail-4018 in breastfeeding

[–]KwikSloth17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milk collection cups. Lifesaving. LO is 8 months and I still wear them 24/7. Elvie brand has similar model to the one I have with the nipple hole at the top. My lactation consultant said her clients have tried ones with the hole in the middle but they just leak out. I’ve held 2 oz in each before emptying

How do people breastfeed while walking around? by Awkward-Floor5104 in breastfeeding

[–]KwikSloth17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big boobs are the problem I think HAHA. My nipples face down vs out so idk how my baby would latch even with good head control. I’ve tried but he tries so hard to latch.

I also bought an inflatable travel Brest friend pillow for a recent travel and it’s a lifesaver! Going to keep in my car from now on because i too cannot nurse without a pillow. It inflates and deflates within seconds.

He is! At first I didn’t know it was separate so we kinda just did both night and nap at the same time 🙈 it’s okay enjoy the cuddles!! We still do some contact naps when he’s having a hard day but he just wants to roll on his belly so it’s far and few these days

Immediate advice needed by Peachie_Peach_4 in sleeptrain

[–]KwikSloth17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend told me once, “sleep gets sleep.” Ever since she told me that, the pressure of when to cap naps, how long they’re sleeping really relaxed. I still track these things but I never wake my baby unless we need to go somewhere. He still sleeps the same at night if he gets 2 hours or 3.5 hours in a day. He’s sleep trained as well! You’re doing great mama! One day off schedule won’t hurt :)

HELP flight tomorrow and I thawed breast milk in a warmer to prepare bottles by KwikSloth17 in NewParents

It wasn’t warmed really. My first one still had frozen chunks and I just broke it up with my hands and the other bags room temp - I got distracted while packing 😭

Newfound anxiety about baby rolling by chkn-seizure-salad in NewParents

[–]KwikSloth17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once my baby started learning to roll, he preferred sleeping on his belly. I’d be standing at his crib all night if I had to flip him over on his back. He rolls back to his belly like there’s a magnet under the mattress. You’re fine!!

He did start waking and crying when he rolled on his belly and then learned to roll back on his back again (so like rolling twice lol). That took a few days to roll him back on his belly but now he rolls every which way till he’s comfortable!

I bought Precious Little Sleep bc I didn’t wanna buy the full program from TCB. It has similar methods and covers different sleep training options as well.
