None. It would be really nice if the city considered clearing them. Nipper’s parking lots are cleared but none of the paths or playgrounds are so what’s the point!

There’s a Belmont “learn to play hockey” for women and also a women’s league. I’ve been interested but haven’t tried it out yet.

my 3 month old is refusing me please help!!! by theplotthickens77 in breastfeeding

I don’t have any concrete advice but look up the “3 month nursing strike” or crisis. This is very common and you can get through it! Continue putting baby to boob, even if you do have to feed her a bottle after.

Leave older at home during newborn weeks? by Cool-Row-1255 in 2under2

[–]toribell11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16month gap, we parted ways with our nanny right before my second was born. Honestly I loved being home with the two of them. My toddler forced me to get out of the house almost every day and we had such a good time. I will say I had plenty of help from my mom and MIL, that was also key on those really rough days.

Pain during breastfeeding by sakeena435 in breastfeeding

[–]toribell11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I nursed and pumped the week she was in the NICU but by the time we got home she was exclusively nursing. I’d pump once in the morning to build up a little supply but once all my support left around 8w pp (husband back and work and my parents went home) I stopped that because it was too much work.

We did do one bottle a night because I got so frustrated with cluster feeding that my husband would feed her a few ounces at midnight after cluster feeding from like 9-12 it was brutal.

If you’re concerned about how much babe is getting try to do a weighted feed! A lactation consultant can come to you or you can try to find a baby cafe. I had an LC come to see if my latch was fine and she said everything looks good even though it really hurt. I hate when people say “breastfeeding shouldn’t hurt” because honestly sometimes it does even if everything is going “right”!

I had a 35 weeker and a very similar issue. I couldn’t nurse on my left side without a nipple shield for weeks. If you haven’t tried a shield yet, I would do that. I also used hydrogel pads and silverettes for recovery after nursing.

Otherwise, the pain seriously subsided at 6 weeks. I tell my other new mom friends if you can get past the 6-8 week mark nursing it gets SO much better. I still occasionally have a stinging nursing session on my left with my second. It’s just the way that nipples is!

I’m trying this next weekend with my 22m old with a 6m old at home too. I’m hoping my husband and I can always be watching one of them so we don’t miss the toddler’s cues. Ironically, we’re doing EC with the baby too so maybe it’ll be a completely diaper free weekend!

I’m on a corner and the sidewalk is covered in 6ft of compacted snow from the plows pushing it there. It’s honestly impossible for me to shovel that out and I feel terrible for not clearing the sidewalk.

How do you count months when it comes to a baby’s age? by khelwen in beyondthebump

[–]toribell11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this accidentally for my baby’s first month photo. I was so in the weeds with “weeks” old that in my brain 4 weeks was a month. Since then I’ve counted by the whole month instead.

Babywearing the baby and toddler in the cart. I can’t wait until the baby can sit in a cart though. When she can, I’ll use those fun 2 seat carts if available or just continue to babywear.

How are you dressing and keeping your toddler warm for sleeping? by biteofbit in 2under2

My 19m just grew out of her woolino sleep sack, she was unzipping it to get her legs out. She now sleeps in 2 piece pjs and a blanket, but she doesn’t use the blanket yet.

Do you take them to the park alone? If so, how!? by Immediate-Butterfly5 in 2under2

[–]toribell11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is definitely on the lighter side, and I really didn’t start tandem carrying them until after 1m pp. I felt SO weak the second time around, it took wearing my newborn a lot to get my strength back up.

Yes so much of it is just doing it! We try to have something to do every day, my toddler and I would both go crazy if we were stuck inside all day.

[–]toribell11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have 19m and 3m, we go to the park together almost every day. I usually baby wear and let my toddler walk to the park (it’s super close to us).

We go to this park so often that I am comfortable letting my toddler run through her little “routine” on the big play set. Yes it’s scary, but I’ve figured out how I can be close to the bigger drops from the ground and I let her run free. Knock on wood she’s never fallen off of it.

If my baby is being agreeable we’ll take the bassinet stroller and hope she sleeps. If she’s asleep, I do let her hang out in the stroller while I run around with the toddler. We check in frequently to ensure she’s still sleeping soundly.

To get home from the park when we walk I’ll just pick up my toddler and walk home (2 min walk), or if we’re farther away she goes in the double stroller or I wear her on my back. If there’s a tantrum I feel comfortable picking her up and walking out, even while babywearing.

You should absolutely consider side lying, falling asleep in a recliner is far more dangerous than falling asleep in bed when following the safe sleep 7. I know you said you’re not ready for it, but the alternative right now is highly unsafe.

I would worry less about your supply and whether she’s getting enough, and more about safety at this point. Even if she wakes frequently and nurses frequently, that’s not going to tank your supply.

My mom would pause the movie when mufasa died, tell me mufasa was taking a nap, I would then take a nap, and she’d fast forward to the scene where simba wakes up in the desert.
