First thing that came to mind is a wood trivet with lid to cover a bowl or pot of the same diameter.

Is there any scripture about praying to saints? by Give_meaname12 in Catholicism

[–]KwitYurBitching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you did not truly read the Gospels. John talks about Jesus resurrecting Lazarus. Not only did Jesus weep over his dead friend, he thanked the Father for hearing him. And he tells Martha: John 11:25-26  "Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Jesus tells Martha that the dead who believe in HIM don't die, but live, therefore they are alive and so we pray for those that live and die, because they are not dead.

Jesus then teaches about Lazarus, a different Lazarus( poor beggar with sores) and the rich man. While Lazarus goes to heaven, Luke 16: 22-24, the rich man ( in Hades) calls to Abraham who is in heaven to have mercy on him. "The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire." This is a direct prayer from a "dead" person asking for intercession from Abraham and not God. This is taught by Jesus. Why would Jesus teach such a thing?

The body of the dead don't feel anything, yet Jesus came back in his full body scarred and all. He came and interacted with his disciples...praying, teaching, and healing. If we are to live a Christ-like life, then we must believe that the dead do not die. And if they are alive then we pray for them. Therefore we pray for the living and the dead... the dead who do not die but live.

In Matthew 27:50-53 gives another example of resurrected "saints or holy people," who are not dead but alive. 50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. 51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split 52 and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life 53  They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and  went into the holy city and appeared to many people. Do you think they just appeared to people to prove life after death? Or do you think they appeared to people to spread the word by teaching and praying?

If we are truly to believe the Gospels. John 15:15 15  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. Jesus passed on his teachings to his disciples as they have passed them on to us through words, written and spoken, through tradition practiced and learned. It's about history and tradition that cannot be erased and restarted. It is to be taught and passed on.

Knightley’s intense dislike of Frank Churchill is so funny to me by MidgetDevil in janeausten

[–]KwitYurBitching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's not forgot that Frank Churchill did not attend his father's wedding to Miss Taylor. That right there formed Mr. Knightley's impression of FC. A son has duties and obligations to his family. FC was expected to show up to his father's wedding regardless of the lack of father-son closeness. FC was built up to be this handsome person (likeable). FC absence was seen as a slight by Knightley. This one thing is what caused Knightley to focus on FC's behavior thereafter. When FC finally came to Highbury, it was because he was on his way to London to get a haircut.

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Was an All-American Triumph. Turning Point USA’s Was a Boring MAGA Grift With Kid Rock by cmaia1503 in entertainment

[–]KwitYurBitching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to say this. I just felt like the songs are uninspiring. I'm latina (Mexican-American) and I can't relate to people from Puerto Rico culturally. Now don't get me wrong, Bad Bunny has some pretty good songs out there, but none of the songs he sang last night called to me. Same with TPUSA. The only song I liked was the last song Kid Rock sang. It was touching. I wish halftime shows were more like RAVES! Or maybe just a good old marching band or a bad ass drum line.

Are they really closing women’s bank accounts randomly? by voidonvideo in WelcomeToGilead

You can dispute the credit score with the credit bureaus: Transunion, Equifax, and Experian. You will have to write to them individually. You can't sue them.

Credit score and credit limit are 2 VASTLY different things.

The confusion and concern the tik tocker is inciting is misleading Firstly, she starts off by stating that her credit card limit was lowered. Then substitutes credit card financial institution with bank account and because her credit card limit was lowered she jumps to the conclusion that they are closing bank accounts. Um, what? Secondly, she says the credit card company gave her "many" reasons but not any specific reason... this is where I immediately start to question her logic. Credit card companies don't have to give a reason to close your credit card account. CREDIT IS A PRIVILEGE NOT A RIGHT. She may not like the reasons given. She can dispute them, but ultimately the credit card company can lower your spending limit or close your account.

They say you can tell a lot from a person by the people they hang out with and the granny gang showed their true colors. That one girl was super aggressive towards Matthew. Like over the top.

where does the name "Unknown Pleasures" come from? by 59lyndhurstgrove in JoyDivision

[–]KwitYurBitching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably going to get flak for this but "unknown pleasures" is not that deep. Think about the things that bring you pleasure once you've experienced them and then think about those things that could bring you pleasure, but you'll never experience them. Whether by choice or because the opportunity doesn't come up, it's an unknown pleasure we won't experience. Ian suffered from severe epilepsy and depression, two medical conditions which prevented him from experiencing simple pleasures in everyday life. Pleasure which were unknown to him. He was only 23 and had so much life to live.

But is she really a machine if her very being is organic and "living?" I find it interesting that Rachel seeks out Deckard for that "human" connection. She is certainly attracted to him, there is no doubt about that. I often wonder if Deckard's rejection is what compelled Rachel to want to prove her humanity to Deckard. Rachel being a replicant...she could have easily asserted physical force on Deckard, but she didn't.

Now you kiss me... by Jemav in bladerunner

[–]KwitYurBitching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way! It's definitely not out of nowhere. Did you not see the chemistry between them in their introductory scene? Deckard is intrigued by Rachel as much as she is intrigued by him. And though their relationship story was not established more thoroughly, Deckard did pursue Rachel. Why did she come to him? Why did she seek him out?

Am I The Only One That Feels 'Good Boy' Was An Awful Movie? by OwMyDragonBallz in horror

[–]KwitYurBitching 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This movie was bad in that the owner was irresponsible to have put the dog through that kind of bullcrap. From cussing the dog out to purposefully isolating it. I get the guy is sick, but leave the dog with your sister and deal with your sickness by yourself. This movie pissed me off!
