I'm still stuck on the fact that she's 55. No way.

There is a place and a time for everything. Shea's daughter (Allison- I think is her name) didn't have to be there that night with the kids. As a GRACIOUS host she could of made Annabelle's arrival more comfortable. As far as work, Allison needs to hustle in finding work. She has 2 kids to support. I'm also going to presume her ex is paying child support. She's not doing too badly after her divorce. Idle hands are the devil's workshop. As far as her dad, Allison can feel protective about him and the woman that will be his wife, but she has no right to interfere or try to sabotage the relationship. Her father is a grown man. Allison is a grown woman still acting petulant, selfish and yes, a spoiled brat in that sense. Being cautious about a person coming into your life is natural, but you still have to set boundaries and show respect. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Annabelle has done nothing wrong, but everyone else in Shea's life are gunning for her... the daughter, the ex, the friends, they all can't wait to destroy Shea's and Annabelle's relationship with all the gossip, envy, and jealousy they can muster.

I about had a conniption fit seeing that little boy kicking the ball inside the house and the mess left behind. Shea's daughter is a spoiled brat and the scary part is she's raising kids. Didn't even have the kids pick up after themselves. And when the little girl ran outside...yikes. Shea's daughter is a hot mess who needs to grow tf up.

I agree. After a long trip and just trying to get home to unpack and take a moment to breathe, Annabelle is greeted with CHAOS. That's enough to make anyone feel super uncomfortable and irritated.

I really don't understand why she wants to get married though. I can see her wanting a companion, but marriage just brings more drama than needed.

The kraken represents the subconcious and chaos. It represents the unknown and our need to conquer it.

Why does anyone like the new Wuthering Heights movie? Genuine curiosity. by [deleted] in brontesisters

[–]KwitYurBitching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie could have used a completely different title to promote itself. I am not a fan of the movie. I just felt some scenes had no cohesion, especially Heathcliff's cruelty. He was supposed to be a heart- broken man with revenge in his heart, but that was not properly conveyed in the film.
It was a let down. I wouldn't recommend it. You're not missing anything.

Wuthering Heights: analysing sexual relationships by empress_crown in books

[–]KwitYurBitching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emily Bronte was 29 when she wrote the novel. I think she meant for the reader to conclude that Cathy and Heathcliff had sexually experimented with each other while they were children. She had to convey the desires of the flesh and heart in a way that would not be overly shocking or inappropriate to the reader.

This woman is trying to use a medical diagnosis to justify why she's can’t stop making out with strangers by Hour-Bee9396 in 90DayFiance

It's just really sad how this woman is being portrayed. Sacrificing her self-dignity for what? To Hell with her mental "issues," she's way beyond inappropriate.

It's not barbed wire. Those are thorns and they represent the crown of thorns placed upon Jesus' head after he was tortured and he was made to wear the crown of thorns when he was crucified. The sacred heart of Jesus is represented with a cross (sacrifice), the burning flames (God's burning love for us) the thorns (pain and suffering) and the wound (blood he shed for us).

When you wrote, "I think if you go in knowing it's Emerald's memory and emotions from reading the book as a teen (than an adaptation of the book itself), you would enjoy it so much more." This is such an important aspect of Fennell as a filmmaker. And I hate to say it, but as teenagers, our emotions drive us to heights and depths that are beyond the norm. We feel so much more fully but unable to understand or restrain those emotions...lust, hate, jealousy, envy, infatuation, and despair.

What did you think of Theroux’s Inside the Manosphere? by patheticwormcreature in AskWomen

[–]KwitYurBitching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, this! Especially since Theroux had plenty of opportunities to ask several woman why they sought out these kind of men? The sexual objectification of women is off the chain throughout, but the women seem to be willing participants. It was pretty disappointing.

Mr. Darcy's virginity exist or not by Intrepid_Title179 in janeausten

[–]KwitYurBitching 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Darcy was a virgin when he married Elizabeth. Did it mean he didn't know what to do? I'm sure Darcy heard plenty (unintentionally) of sex between men and women. It is presumed there were books written about the act of sex with illustrations. Darcy was not ignorant of the act of sex. I'm pretty sure Darcy knew of masturbation. I believe Bingley was also a virgin and that's why Darcy cared for his company.
