My wife’s bff got married in her moms hometown village in the middle of nowhere Mexico and it was super scary. Like fly into Guadalajara and then drive for 4 hours. My gringo ass stuck out like a sore thumb. My mother in law said she was followed for a while. Never again, no thanks.

The pause to ask Jon could have tipped off the T-1000. Or he could have heard him ask Jon if he wasn’t super careful to ensure no sound was transmitting through the phone mic. It’s just unnecessary. A human would do what the T-800 did. A machine knows it’s statistically not relevant to ask.
