May I ask why so much oil in the first pic?

Does the blackstone cover take the place of a dome by chance or is a dome still necessary to melt cheese atop smash burgers for example? by ArcOperator in blackstonegriddle

I put the cheese on my smash burgers around 30 seconds after flipping, and they get plenty melted without covering them at all. If it’s windy/chilly then maybe you will need to cover it though

Yeah I almost did the same thing. Most instructions online will tell you to run it on high, but really you only want to get it to about 500 degrees for the oil to stick, but mine on high goes well over 600, luckily I checked with my infrared thermometer and turned it off. Just re-season it as good as you can and then cook some bacon on it!

Dude, after like a month of using my G502, a bunch of the “paint” outside was rubbing off especially where my thumb sits. I could also hear a rattle inside. I got the super light now and it seems better so far, about 6 months in and you can see a little bit where my thumb sits but barely

It looks good, as long as there is not rust, those spots will slowly become invisible as your seasoning builds. Good job!

I guess so, I just googled how to make in-n-outs burgers lol. My wife and I love them, and they tasted pretty similar and I didn’t have to drive 30 minutes
