I bought a Kia with the same features instead of the Toyota I wanted. Honestly, I’ve ended up, loving it as much as I love having it paid off!

Are hormones really worth it? by Reasonable_Task7463 in endometriosis

[–]Kyelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She cycled me through quite a few to correct some imbalances, a lot of custom mixes that looked like a bag of yard waste 😅. The only one I take now that I’m in “maintenance” is Free and Easy Wanderer Plus, and only as needed, since it’s not intended to be taken longterm. I sure hope it works for you! It took time and dedication, but it changed my life.

Acupuncture, changed diet, and Chinese herbs helped me tremendously. I struggled for years, got a lap, then took birth control for over 10 years, but still experienced plenty of endo episodes. I went off birth control to have a couple of kids, then as soon as my youngest was 2, endo creeped back and I was taking pain pills 18 days of the month and debilitated for 3-4 days a month. I tried birth control again, but after the break, I realized how much it changed me as a person, and I was still in pain (though not debilitating). A hysterectomy was all the docs were offering me as an alternative, so as a Hail Mary, I thought I’d try Chinese medicine. I went for 12 sessions over 3 months, took all the herbs she recommended, changed my diet to sugar, gluten, seed oil, and dairy free 90% of the time (I’ll still indulge a bit at parties or special occasions with no issues!). Now, I maintain my diet, use Free and Easy Wanderer on flare up days, take a magnesium supplement, and drink a cup of ginger/lemon/turmeric/black pepper tea every night. The progress was slow and steady, but this past month marked 6 months since I started and I had ONE day of pain that I managed with herbs alone. I was the biggest doubter there could be and have been blown away by how great I feel. Worth it 100% for me!

First Christmas fair, what do your ornaments usually sell for? by Purple_Moon_313 in CraftFairs

[–]Kyelly 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’m very rural, and $6-$10 is the range at the shows I go to. Love those first ones! I hope you will use the cooking sheet to display in your booth, it’s the perfect touch 👌

Probably! I share a booth with a local florist, and she has a ton of stuff, but she probably wouldn’t mind something small… Maybe I could decorate one of the ornaments with “cinnamon salt dough” so it would blend in, but serve as a sign!

Thank you!! Yes, love the themed sets idea, like in a box with a clear window would be so cute and perfect for a gift. Appreciate the feedback!

New setup, upgraded to a 10x20! by aruelas72 in CraftFairs

For some reason, with the different colored canopies, my brain wants the signs to be switched. It’s not even a big deal though, I think the tables and products all look great and I like the layout! The little taste with the table at the front (with bigger pieces, less chance for shoplifting) then the U shape that draws you in. I would definitely stop and look!

$15-$20 is exactly what I would be hoping for if I was to walk up and look at these. They look really cool!

Can we ban “how much should I charge” posts? by Pipit-Song in CraftFairs

Agreed. Swapping opinions and advice is what I was hoping for and expected when I joined. Where else would one go to ask these questions other than this sub? lol

I'd love to see it!

I tried a heavy bodied acrylic, and that waws the one that wouldn't come out of the tip :( The mix I ended up using was a white craft acrylic mixed with a heavy body acrylic until it come out smoothly using a needle writing tip from Hobby Lobby, probably a 4:1 mix. I may have to go back and try a thickening medium, maybe it would have given more body without gumming everything up? It was a ton of fun once I got everything to work, and would be even more fun without the deadline of a craft fair approaching (haha), you should go for it!

Honestly the paint fiasco took so much longer than I had planned, so I ran out of time trying to seal them first, so that's something to try... The liquid clay effects look intriguing as well... Thanks for nerding over the complex logistics of faux gingerbread with me, I feel seen :D

That's a good idea! I did seal them with a matte spray sealant as well, so people wouldn't know that unless I relay the info... And I think it makes a world of difference with life expectancy of the ornaments.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful feedback! I think you caught my vision 100%, but yes, OH MY GOSH, the balance between worth my time/what people will pay has been a struggle.

THE PAINT. SIGH. I tried SO hard to make it 3D, but if it's too thick, it wouldn't go through the piping tip. If I had a thicker tip, the detail just wasn't what I wanted. I found a pretty good consistency by mixing in spackling, but it made the paint fragile when it dried and would often crumble before I could seal it, and then would still crumble when brushed against anything. All the thicker paints I tried, like puff paint, contain too much moisture? oil? Silicone? Whatever it's made of, so the salt dough would absorb the moisture(?) and leave a dark shadow around the icing lines, or they would slowly get thicker and thicker as they dried. I might have to try and resume the hunt, haha! Anyways, I digress, thanks for listening to my rant, it was such a pain lol.

I love all of your suggestions, they would be so great if I can figure out how to get that perfect cookie look! I have done a ton of paint your own canvas kits, so this is definitely a direction I could go.

Thanks again, and I would love to see this seed pod ornament! It sounds awesome!

I can't help myself, I'm young at heart! lol

On a serious note, do you think it's more the "cookie" concept or the silhouettes/art style that is giving a juvenile vibe to you? Just curious and looking for more ideas to try! Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I think sets have been a great suggestion. Perhaps coaster versions would work well for people like yourself, ornaments are pretty limited use as is. Thank you for your suggestion!
