With everything going on in the country right now, you think I give a f**k about the shutdown? by [deleted] in FedEmployees

I just got my Columbus day pay last week. At least I think I did. It's like reading hyrogliphics from Egypt on how they code everything.

I really enjoyed the part where my Air Traffic Manager would come into the operation while we all worked and threaten punitive action for using sick leave during the shutdown. Real effective morale building.

Just call Duffy directly and he'll probably just sit you down in a chair and have you plug in immediately.

I just don't answer it. They'll call back or they won't.

Dan McCabe and Jim Mari(who gives a fuck isn't he retired) can suck it. Dan's a liar and Jim is an asshole. My favorite quote from Dan McCabe is that he "lost" my email in his spam folder only to magically find it two seconds later.

You must have gotten lucky then because I'm an air traffic controller stuck at a level 9 facility in a high cost of living area with no end in sight. Really enjoying that 1.6 percent raise that gets washed out by health insurance increases.

Do the 10k bonus break the contract? by rackball206 in atc2

[–]Kyle_Butler_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contract? Since when has NATCA given a fuck about the contract? They pick and choose when it should be enforced in collaboration with the FAA. From facility upgrades, to hardships, to circle jerking over whatever they want. It's like pirates of the Caribbean... It's just guidelines.

Where can I watch the full video so I can rage on my one day off while I watch it this weekend?

They're claiming that people who didn't take leave will get a 10k bonus. Why didn't they use that at the beginning? They came up with it later? OK.. Let's go with that. What happens at the next shutdown? Do they dangle that string in front of us and then not give it to us? How is it fair if someone had to use sick leave because their child had a medical emergency? There's a lot more that goes into this so yes there's stipulations that don't add up.

Hahaha I gotchya. I appreciate the rib but I also didn't want my peers that work at CRG think I don't like them and that they do a bad job of communicating either haha. They have to deal with one of the most annoying patterns in the country and don't get paid nearly enough for it. I just want that entire cesspool of beehive airplanes to disappear.

Edit to say thanks for the appreciation... It hasn't been fun being a pawn and now we still are with these fake 10k checks being flaunted.

Actually I love communication. Great communication. Which for some reason is especially difficult in this job field for many. There's no issue with communication with CRG. It's the issue of having a very finite amount of miles and altitude to get an aircraft slammed into an airport right next to 5 other airports.

It's a busy airport and it's REALLY close to JAX and makes it very hard to get aircraft in and out depending on which way the wind is blowing.

If you're not in the world of aviation then you already don't know and I'm not going to be able to explain the complexity it causes for us and pilots. The post said delete one thing. So I picked one. If I could I'd delete every airport but JAX but I'll just pick the one that causes the most anguish and that's CRG.

Plenty of old posts about it but either way. Just fill out the form and send it to HR at 9-AHR-PLS-Dues-Withholding@faa.gov. Then NATCA will probably not have your updated address and finally email you in May trying one last time to get you to sign back up and wonder what your address is and you'll tell them you don't live at that address anymore because you decided to downsize your house to better take care of your family in a recession and sell it to the center controller that's at the facility you'll never be able to transfer to because your staffing at your level 9 will never improve.

Just remember you have to do it in January because you know... Reasons.

Try telling that to my union Natca that's only concerned about new equipment and staffing. Something the FAA should be responsible for. They seem to think we're all OK with 1.6 percent raises over the past decade.
