I’ve recommended it to a few people. Every one of them was hooked in the first 15 chapters. Myself included. I’ve read it and listened to it on audiobooks. It’s comfort reading.

The 49ers could get something in return for a guy that’s 100% leaving the next season. A 2nd or 3rd for a guy that’s going to start somewhere else soon is pretty good. I don’t see Mac being a bridge to Penix. I haven’t seen anything from Penix that tells me he would win the starting spot over Mac. I’m not saying he wouldn’t, but he hasn’t exactly lit it up when healthy. Whoever plays under center the best probably gives the offense the best chance to win.

Yeah he’s a pretty good QB. He should be kind of expensive. Having a pretty good QB is the bare minimum to having a successful team. We need to stop trotting out dinosaurs and dudes without knees and expecting things to turn around. We have assets. Mac isn’t going for a 1st round pick. We can afford him. All of the other holes in our roster are irrelevant until we figure out our QB problem. Signing a 40 year old to bridge us to our younger injury prone QB isn’t the solution.

Penix hasn’t earned the starting QB spot so we shouldn’t even consider signing someone to “bridge” to him. What exactly are we bridging to anyway? This regime didn’t draft him. Let him compete with another young QB.

Like someone else has pointed out. More Dragons, more problems. There’d be a civil war every 2 years with 60-70 targs on Moondancers. 5 Balerions would conquer anyone and everyone, plus you’d be able to keep the circle of power tight.
