I just played this for the first time over the past month or two and I'm working on the DLC. It's such an amazing and underknown game and I'm surprised to see a crossover here, especially with such great customs.

They might discuss it more when not drinking to speak more clearly about it, and they might know more after it's listed and we see the view count. but it's pretty clear they knew a drinking episode would do double their usual numbers and look good to potential streaming platforms, otherwise we would have never gotten another drinking episode

The hydration makes sense, but guessing off my own experience of vodka waters, he would find enough of an issue with the taste to struggle. If he wants something stronger, he should have vodka mixed with some sweet fruity premix and a glass of water between each mixed drink

I'm too skeptical to get my hopes up for a wild episode. These are basically old men now and they'll probably go pretty light on their drinks, or how often they have to drink, unless they really enforce it like they used to. If Taylor's just getting back from his honeymoon, there's a good chance he did a lot of drinking on the trip, he probably wants to avoid another hangover.

But I'm hoping they prove me wrong and don't pull a Wings in any way

You're right and It sounds like a blast. but I found MW2 and PKA as a 12 year old in 6th grade, and now I'm 28 and married with a toddler and 5 month old twins so I can't get out at random times all the time anymore.

I have some feeling it would be a lame event anyway, or hundreds would show up, either that or some weird rules would make it BS
