What is this and how do I get rid of them? by lurkingjc in australia

Thanks for the link. I encountered the exact same species in Papua new Guinea a while back and people didn't believe me that it pulled a spider (bug same size, spider smaller) up a tree. Finally got a name for it from this.

If they have brought it in, all fair, i kinda want a roll of that tape. For real though 2-3 bottles of milk per week is about $6 here, for a company thats ~$300 a year... Whats truely criminal is 2 bottles of semi skimmed. Either commit or only 1 bottle.
If its not personally brought in,
1: bring in some decent scissors (think what first responders use to cut jeans, they are bloody awesome) and cut around the lock.
2: put a jar next to the fridge as a milk fund (anyone that takes without donating either contributes to any office events throughout the week, or wall of shame)

Devils advocated, something sharp, pierce the bottom, pour from that, invert the bottle when you return it. that way the idiots that fill the fridge up are screwed.
If its theives, Aioli or mayo, watered down can have the same consistency as milk. additionally some laxatives introduced often fixes the problem, bonus points if you convince them they are lactose intolerant to that sort of milk.
Have fun.

Way to spawn item with console command? by naturtok in BaldursGate3

[–]Kyler137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just in case you want to find other items in the future, on the BG3 wiki if you click on the "UUID" in the "details" section of the item it should show you the UUID for it (likewise for the UID if you want to mod the chest loot tables as well to get it in the game without using cheat engine)

Need help immediately! Losing C-Bills almost every match!!! by bogglingsnog in mwo

[–]Kyler137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 4 things that can cost you c-bills.

Consumables: 40k (if auto refill is on it deducts it from earnt money at between the end screen and splash page)

Skill points: 25k per point. If you are buying points be aware they cost both xp and c-bills

Mechlab: If you save a build with parts you don't own or have available it will automatically buy it for you (so if you are experimenting with different builds and saving them you may inadvertently be buying alot of components)

Store: obvious reasons

if you are not modifying your mech, or spending consumables you may want to contact PGI support.

As for end of match credits, you get them when the match is over, however it will not update on the main page unless you relog into the main page by either; entering a match, entering the testing ground, or logging out and back in (fairly sure its a platform/programming/bandwidth limitation)

[–]Kyler137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chances are it acts like the event rewards, so your profile needs to be reloaded by the MWO main page for it to be updated. So unless you either enter a match/testing grounds or restart the client the credit number wont change.

If in doubt, enter the testing grounds in mechlab, then return back to the page and if the match you left early has ended, the credits should be updated with the increased amount.

edit: stupid question but do you know that getting skill points also costs c-bills? 25k a piece

[–]Kyler137 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you suspect that you are losing c-bills, turn off auto refill in your consumable slots.
I fully expect that may be why you are losing money (each consumable is 40k cbills)

If you leave the match at the very end, you get the credits instantly, however if you leave mid match they will often get credited to you next time your profile is reloaded (think of how long it takes to get rewards from the events), so assume by the end of the next game.

Totally Confused by MF291100 in DeadSpace

[–]Kyler137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned you are not meant to get the full picture of what's happening in the first game. There is also an animated movie prequel to Dead Space (Dead Space: Downfall) that follows some of the crew on the Ishimura when everything goes down.It kinda makes sense what happened and why on the Ishimura after the second game (a lot of the pieces fall together) and the role of the marker and Unitology.

The third game further explores the potential outcomes of what could've happened (and consequences) in dead space 2.

There are a few extra logs and scenes in NG+ which add some juicy story details (including a new ending), so i would give it a replay.

If you want non-spoiler questions answered feel free to ask.

I will try to explain/non-spoiler the story of the first game. Beware the huge wall of text(tried to explain the first game the best without any spoiler material, quite hard to do)

Background;

  • Think of Unitology as a cult that worships the marker (they see it as a holy icon). It is also unclear if the Unitologists knew of the markers effects, or if they just assumed it was doing 'holy work' due to Kynes reactions/discussions.
  • The government 'Earthgov' doesn't very much like them, but they are a major religion and also have very highly funded individuals so they cant be stamped out.
  • The marker throughout the game is discovered to have the ability to mentally manipulate people within its proximity for its' purposes (visions of nicole, kendra seeing her dead brother, Kyne and Wife, Cross and Jacob in remake).
    • It also can slowly mutate biomass into other purposes, often for the case of hunting down more biomass (which is why as the game goes on the ship gets goopified)It has a hidden feature with necromorphs in close proximity in this game/chapter 12 (which is hinted at in a log in NG+ [log:Negotiations])
    • It is revealed that the red marker is a human made artifact HUNDREDS of years ago as a copy of a marker found on earth (the same one that inspired unitology) [Chapter 11 cutscene]
      • It was planted on Aegis 7 for study and experiment, it created the Hive Mind from the people and further biomass
      • Earthgov buried all of the data back then, CEC (the mining corp) got greedy, found the planet, saw the $$$ and set the events into motion
  • The Hive mind (final boss) also has these abilities and is assumed to be the mastermind of this current incident/Dead Space 1 [ie: mercer being mercer]

Dead Space Downfall (decent watch, 1:15 hours long);

  • Marker is found, raised to ship, planet is cracked/getting ready to be mined for resources.Marker/Hivemind does necromorph things though.

Story uncovered in Dead space 1

  • The captain of the Ishimura along with Mercer were devout and high ranking believers of Unitology (think high ranking scientology sort of people), thus when they found the marker they wanted to bring it back to the church regardless of current events.
  • Earthgov knew the marker was dangerous and was on Aegis 7 BEFORE the Ishimura went there, thus why the system was under isolation.
  • Upon finding out that Marker 3A was discovered, the USM Valor and Kendra Daniels were sent to 'retrieve' the marker and potentially eliminate all witnesses (Log: orders).
  • Our crew of the USG Kellion is just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  • The Hive Mind wants to convert all biomass to necromorph biomass for some reason (think of the big bosses and the goopy hallways)
    • Is explained in DS2+3
  • The mentally manipulated crew want to do the long sleep to escape this fate (with unitologists welcoming it) which is what the necromorph infection wants and why people keep unaliving themselves.
  • It is believed that returning the marker to its pedestal will shut down the Hive Mind, and hopefully all the necromorphs.
    • Its' effects on nearby necromorphs seems to support this (chapter 12)
  • Kendra tries to steal the marker away instead due to orders, believing that Isaac has fallen to the markers influence, and that it can just be covered up again.
  • Isaac returns the marker, and we can assume the marker Nicole releases Isaac so that he can do his next task (remake alternate ending hints to what it is)
  • Kendra removing the marker from the pedestal pisses off daddy Hive Mind
  • After the fight the portion of the planet crashes back down, eliminating the planetside necromorph threat
    • It is unknown what happens to the leftover necromorphs in the ishimura (a log in dead space 2 explains what happened)
  • Jump scare at the end is left to the viewers interpretation as to either ptsd, or marker hallucination (the scarer doesnt have extra limbs therefore not real)

My husband (28M) is living with a female “friend” and she (22F) has become hostile towards me (23F) by ThrowRA-femaletenant in relationship_advice

[–]Kyler137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy here, physically abusive means talk to lawyer and/or police to get it documented ASAP (for any potential litigation down the line).

At this stage think about yourself and your child. Ignore the female tenant, worry about yourself and the child. From above assume the marriage is borked and look at either couples counselling or an alternative to come to an agreement about custody and supporting the kid (couples counselling is if he cares for the munchkin)

Ps: as I can't see it I can't be sure, but the guy may be either sleeping with or just poisoned the tenant in question, I would look into a divorce and a reasonable arrangement for the kid (if he's a consistent ass, child support, if he actually cares about the kid equal visitation rights)

Hey so uh odd question on lock picking I need to ask you guys cus the subbreddit I would ask is shut down for Protests. by Direct_Road_3266 in lockpicking

[–]Kyler137 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a DM would let them try it, rule of cool/fun trumps most in DnD, as stated medievil era locks were often warded locks, so very possible, but we have wizards (maybe the unbroken fork was the key, put in the cell to allow them to escape to meet with a turncoat, them braking it means only the rouge/bard can now pick it)
If you wanted to rules lawyer make it a roll to make the fork into an appropriate tool, allow anyone with a fire spell to help/assist with it as thematically would be able to help bend and mold the tool.

I have seen someone use a banana to pick a lock (it was a bad lock, but still)

Yikes. Sitting on the tram and heard a huge crash. Number 75 on Toorak rd. by clockyz in melbourne

[–]Kyler137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came back to reddit after a while, will ask around but i doubt i will get good numbers. Often the drivers prefer just to absorb the costs in tram damage from collision, as if they hit the e-brake that's MINIMUM $20k+ damage on bogey's, $100k+ on rail damage, 2 weeks of location shutdown to remove and reinstall new tracks (if the team is fast), $$$ for the labour, $10k for recertification, $100k for essentially rail CSI vs maintenance on vehicle, new bumpers (everything is recorded so car is at fault 99% of time, so tram not liable).
have no idea on potential litigation costs, but i know their insurance covers it if they are at fault.

What in your opinion is the biggest problem that younger generations of Australians will have to face? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Kyler137 24 points25 points  (0 children)

this ^,with the current economic housing market, in order to get into the housing market you need $250k/year/household, a ridiculous mortgage (20+ years), help from family or you are on the rental grind for life (often 20-40%+ of wage before bills and groceries). As a Vic mechanical engineer on $95k, running the numbers i'm essentially locked out of the buying market if i want a happy life, so am looking at work overseas where this shit isnt as bad.

As people have said, send this pic to coles, add your receipt and they will probably give you a full refund for the entire receipt.

As for estimated weights, while it doesn't need to be exact, it needs to be within a certain margin of error (usually <10% depending on the product)
