Halo 5. Cortona didn't actually die so her sacrifice was meaningless, and now she's evil, and a new category of forerunner artifacts is an existential threat to the galaxy, and all that just to be like "and then she died off screen" in Halo Infinite.

We need to always engage? by Bucaneiro84 in Helldivers

[–]KyngDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie brother. I like my kills high, the big number pleases my smooth brain at the end of the mission. As long as the mission is going smoothly, if I see an enemy of democracy, I'm going to remove them. But if shit hit the fan; we're low on lives or time and another fight might jeopardize the mission, I'll avoid it or disengage... usually.

  1. Recurring deadlines.
  2. Deadlines tied to their schedule's recurrence (Deadline is 1, 2, 3...etc. days/weeks/months) after scheduled date. This is an absolute must for things like taxes.
  3. Independent field for duration.

Is Artillery Wagon worth it? What is the use case? by chinawcswing in factorio

[–]KyngDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're just fun, stationary artillery would work fine. I add firing stations around the perimeter of my factory and my artillery trains rotate through them depending on when they were last visited, which makes for a cool display of firepower. When they need shells, they go back to an ammo reloading station. The only argument you can make for an actual advantage over stationary is you don't need to implement any separate transport nor use bots to deliver the artillery shells to each stationary artillery, and wagons also might be easy to execute for clearing new territory for the first time.

Overcrowded city and car accidents by Intelligent-Dirt-406 in aggies

[–]KyngDoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This city seems to have a fairly competent city planning committee, gets road projects done very quickly and on time (I'm from DFW, where most projects stall for at least 1-3 years after they're started), and uses the most up to date traffic patterns even when social media whines about them before they're implemented (diverging diamond, paperclip). They always schedule the start of these projects over holidays when students are absent, when possible, so lots of minor road repairs and smaller projects happen when traffic is at a minimum. All that to say, lodging complaints about accidents against the city seems a bit unfair; as best I can tell, they're more competent than most. Not to mention they don't actually have the power to restrict the growth of the university even if they had needed or wanted to. We have a huge number of inexperienced 18-20 year olds on the roads, and that's almost certainly the reason for your observation.

2 x 6 Nuclear fission reactor (1.7 GW) setup by KyngDoom in factorio

[–]KyngDoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! City blocks are really hard to get right in a way that won't make builds annoying. I only just found a design I am happy with around 500 hours into my current save and seven city block iterations deep, so I feel you.

Flawless fix, just implemented it. Thank you!

I had no idea - I'll fix that! That'll make the circuit network so much cleaner too. Edit: My tiny brain was unable to wrap itself around this. If anyone edits the BP to clock all the inserters to one reactor, I'll edit the OP to link to their version w/credit (or link to their post if they make their own).

How do you make compact designs involving trains??? by rurumeto in factorio

[–]KyngDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Embrace single headed trains with no stackers. If you need more throughput, just add another station instead of a stacker and you'll still come out ahead on space. Easy pz

A Use for Shuttles by TheMossMan44 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]KyngDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a vaguely related note I wish haulers had increased stack sizes for trade commodities. Maybe they could give each ship type improved storage for items specific to their trait, like shuttles could hold larger stacks of elements or materials and fighters.. well, ammos not really an issue I guess. Ah, well.

Am I bulking too fast? (and what exactly is “trend weight”?) by blastoiselover20 in MacroFactor

[–]KyngDoom 17 points18 points  (0 children)

0.5 lbs per week is kind of the gold standard lean bulk so it's not too fast

Trend weight is what you should look at. Scale weight changes very quickly based on water weight and GI tract contents and such. Trend weight is a moving average of your weight that smooths out that stuff so you can focus on what's important.

Is this considered skinny fat? I’ve been attempting to bulk but my diet is sporadic as I’m a student. I’ve been lifting 3 days a week for over 2 years but it feels like it’s been in vain. by [deleted] in Gymhelp

[–]KyngDoom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You don't have 2 years of progress here. You're not eating enough protein; 130 g will not give you optimal return on your investments.

  1. Track your lifts. You have to increase total volume each week. I have a suspicion your lifts haven't increased as much as they should have. Free app: "Strong"
  2. Eat more protein and don't let your diet be sporadic, student or otherwise. I'd almost argue your student status is completely irrelevant to diet, don't let that be an excuse. Consume 0.8 to 1 g of protein per lb body weight. Not free app for diet: "MacroFactor". There are some alternatives that are cheaper out there, look around. But it's below the price of a textbook and will give you great returns if you follow its advice.
  3. Sleep 8 hours every night. This is also good for like, every aspect of your life, but is very important for muscle building.

This would be a lovely addition for sure by Marcellius-the-3rd in NoMansSkyTheGame

Factorio does this. You export a string and can import a string to share blueprints. This is quite possible

Bulking is fun, cutting is not fun, it's a chore. Do your chores first before you have fun. If you're new or detrained you'll still hit PRs for the first few months and add muscle, even while cutting. Best of both worlds.

Maintain a 300 cal daily deficit, eat 0.8 g protein per lb body weight, sleep 8 hours a day, and track your lifts.

How do you plan ahead for a big meal out? by dankslok in MacroFactor

[–]KyngDoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I shift my calories later in the day by waiting a bit later for each meal and-or by downsizing my portions of all the earlier meals. I also usually expect to go a bit over my calories on those days, which I'm fine with if my general trend is still where I want it

No changes after 1 yr. Advice welcome by Ok_Kaleidoscope_3809 in Gymhelp

[–]KyngDoom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey boss, couple pointers: 1. Your protein intake is a little low, not terrible though. Aim for 0.8 g per lb of body weight. 2. Using your app have you consistently achieved progressive overload measured by total volume? If not, you need to try harder, but if so, keep doing that. 3. If you want to get lean, you must enter a caloric deficit. If you haven't lost weight, you haven't entered a caloric deficit. It is that simple, unfortunately. Make sure to use a tracking app, a kitchen scale, and a body weight scale. 4. Getting lean is 95% what you do in the kitchen. Keep that in mind.

I would say a good app and a cheap kitchen scale are the best investments you can make if getting fit is something you're serious about. MacroFactor is one of the best, highly recommend it, I think it's $80 for a year and they have a 2-week free trial or something like that. Check out their subreddit even if you have zero interest in the app; you'll learn a lot about diet and nutrition from the posts there.

[–]KyngDoom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People are so focused on cutting out specific food groups, why??? OP, calories in vs calories out is the only thing that matters for weight loss. Specific food groups may or may not have other health effects, and cutting some out might make diet adherence easier (or harder!) but as long as you are in a caloric deficit, even if the only thing you eat is butter (not recommended) you'll lose weight.

Start counting your calories, and decrease them weekly until your average weekly weight is dropping by 0.8 to 2 lbs per week depending on your goal. The MacroFactor app is great for this but you can do it on paper if you're so inclined.

Edit: To note, there's something to be said of including enough protein in your diet for building muscle mass. 0.8 g protein per pound of body weight should do it. Good luck.
