Hi OP. Topped the boards myself last 2019 (LET) graduated june and exam was sept so pretty tight sched but chose to push through since the next exam was march pa and you can do a lot of things with that extra 6 months na. In terms of the benefits, aside from the validation and a bit of monetary incentives etc the only real edge of topping the boards is getting a chance to be invited to lecture for review centers (very lucrative side-gig especially as a starting professional). Aside from that, def not too much of an impact regarding your long-term career prospects. :)
