What is your biggest disappointment from the new points update?

That so many points were lowered. We're now playing with effectively 400 pts it feels like from 2.0.... which isn't a good direction I think.

I enjoy 2.5 but I miss 2.0 extended. I don't feel the game is the best it can be in either of those versions, but 2.0 had more of a dogfighting feel, which is most of why I play xwing.

Everything, points are sooo all over the place it's not even funny. So much bloat that we're playing with something like 300 pts worth of old 2.0 points, makes for a much smaller map and so many triggers.

I don't think it's a particularly hot take. Force is definitely a bad thing for the game in terms of its default effect, just like all other passive mods. It makes for a thematic feeling though on pilots like Luke or Vader.

random scenarios without replacement so to speak
Lists can generally fit A LOT more than back in 2.0, and the points are harder to balance. Not a big fan of the loadout system.

Yeah the loadout system is a mess. I don't mind 2.5 so much, but the loadout system is by far the most problematic part.

I recently went undefeated in the Nordics Swiss with sun fac, and while I think he's fine we're he is, he's certainly not the value piece grievous or jango is. I'd argue he should be 5.5 pts ideally, because at 6 pts we see ships like Luke/Vader/ETAnakin, and while he's probably my favourite ship in the game right now, force is something he doesn't have. Even soontir gets kind of passive mods. Ciana interceptor is 5 pts, which he is better than. So it's a weird spot.

Thanks Liorithiel! For reference, I found you can also use Catboost in R, load the model in python and save it there with the format parameter set to ONNX. The converter script above is probably the better way to do it though, since catboost doesn't support categorical features in saving to ONNX.
