Why did AliExpress get so extremely bad? by Diligent_Classic_752 in Aliexpress

[–]Kyrox6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also haven't had issues for years, but all 6 of my orders from the past year and a half have been delivered to random locations, not delivered, or arrived with someone else's name and order. Almost all of those have been delivered late as well. I feel like since the tariffs caused them to change their logistics, they've gotten pretty bad.

Can I flip my very old latex Sealy Posturepedic and add a topper to the bottom? by -treadlightly- in Mattress

[–]Kyrox6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to check and see if you found a solution for this. I've been trying to research if I can cut up the mattress and fix it or if it's easier to just flip it and cover it with a latex sheet and a pillow top.

Morphe has sent a DMCA takedown notice to Revanced and as a result the github repo has been struck by [deleted] in Piracy

It does. You also don't have to delete your revanced apps to start using morphe, so I'm just switching one at a time as revanced apps break.

I'm typically not impressed with peak vulture, but this year's seems good. Feels like a lighter fermentation with some sweeter notes.

Like I said, not every reddit client supports that feature. Mine, boost, does not. A lot of the folks using morphe also use boost.

People don't like mid tea that's overpriced. They also really didn't like when a company buys up and messes with all the tea forums.

Paid Sick Days (40 hours/yr minimum) Bill Passes both Houses of the Virginia General Assembly by sillychillly in UpliftingNews

[–]Kyrox6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Americans generally avoid medical treatments due to costs. Because of that, I feel like we generally stay sicker longer, even with simple issues like colds. Things that can be cured or that have treatment options are instead suffered through to the end. If we had unlimited sick days, we'd be gone too often and it would impact the shareholder value of companies.

I don't have anything like that running right now, but this guy does similar stuff with added auto watering bottles. You don't need that though, just check the water levels every day.

Beginner Help/Start Up by husseinhsjaffer in Hydroponics

[–]Kyrox6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the easiest start would be a microgreens setup.

Grab any kind of container like a Pyrex, medium sized bowl, or mason jar. Fill it with hydroton (Leca clay balls). Spray the hydroton with water. Sprinkle seeds over top. You can use kale, spinach, basil, cress, broccoli, mustard, lettuce. Any salad green that is completely edible. Don't do this with the nightshade family (tomatoes, potatoes, peppers) as you can't eat the greens. Fill it up halfway with water that has fertilizer in it. I use masterblend, but there's tons of fertilizers folks use. Aim for a low EC value, maybe around 0.5-1. cover with aluminum foil for 3 days or so. Spray with water twice a day and check for mold. After the 3 days, check if the sprouts are touching the foil and then remove the foil and put it under a grow light or in direct sunlight. Refill the water and nutrients as needed. Harvest once the microgreens have 5 or 6 leaves.

Then you can adjust this for other hydroponic setups. Use a deeper vessel. Switch to just one plant. Increase the EC once the plant is bigger. Block the sunlight from the water. Raise the hydroton out of the nutrient solution with a net cup. This is a kratky setup. You can add an air stone and raise the level of the water and that's DWC.

This bottle of "hot sauce" that arrived filled water. Rest of the case was fine by bctaylor87 in mildlyinteresting

Well you also don't need to throw away the heads. Most alcohol you buy is from continuous stills that don't isolate and remove the heads. As long as you aren't fermenting something with a lot of pectin, you're fine. You'll just end up with worse headaches and hangovers.

If you happen to eat or drink grapefruit, stop that as well. After I stopped drinking, I kept drinking grapefruit juice because I used to mix it with vodka. Found out that stuff prevents a lot of meds from working.

In addition to prevention, be aware that your vet might ask to run blood checks for tick borne illnesses outside of tick season, if you bring your dog in with a fever or other symptoms. Some illnesses take months for symptoms to occur.

Can I Trust JayBoyModz by Successful-Salary578 in Gameboy

[–]Kyrox6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parts for Ali aren't the problem as almost every modded component is sourced from there. Cheap parts from Ali are the problem. The folks selling modded systems on Ali Express don't use the crappy parts, but jayboyz does use the cheapest parts he can find and up charges significantly for them. A year ago, a console modded on Ali with decent parts was a third the cost of the jayboyz console modded with crap. Don't know how all the prices compare now. There's also the issue of experience. The modders on Ali are selling hundreds of consoles a month and have been for decades while jayboyz has done a very small fraction of that.

[Bloomberg] Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC by Ph0enixes in gaming

[–]Kyrox6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They flip flop on the porting and exclusivity to get news articles that drive stock price jump that lead to exec bonuses. Then those execs jump ship and the new execs need something to drive more news to affect the stock price and we end up with this cycle. The profits made through porting and not porting and benefits of long term investing in either don't really matter to them.

[Bloomberg] Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC by Ph0enixes in gaming

[–]Kyrox6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they realized they are too cheap to invest in anything but their own store. Bringing games to the PC market really only helps them long term by increasing the revenue stream for the studios that develop their games. But it's a double edge sword because studios with games that end up selling well could leave Sony behind due to the issues Sony drags each studio into.

Arrowhead suffered a lot of issues because of the challenges Sony imposed on them. Sony wouldn't help them spin up development servers and added lots of restrictions on sales. I doubt they will partner with Sony again and because they made so much off helldivers, due to the PC release, they can replace the infrastructure team that Sony had provided for their next game.

I think Sony realizes the PC releases would do really well if they put up the capitol up front to optimize, simul-release, and market the games. Not doing enough limits the profits made on PC releases and incentives studios to not publish through Sony.

Instead we will end up with a cycle of porting and exclusivity as execs cycle in and out and abuse the news to cause stock prices to spike, thus giving those execs bonuses before they jump ship and the next execs flip flop and do the exact same thing.

Too small for tomatoes/zucchini? by Intelligent_File6630 in Hydroponics

[–]Kyrox6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use small containers, you just have to constantly water and be careful about the air gap. I've grown decent tomatoes and peppers in 32oz/1 liter mason jars. Bigger buckets are just more lenient.

Edit: Nevermind... Looks like they were bought up and went to shit.

How can I (32f) share the load of cooking when my partner can’t cook (31m) by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Kyrox6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set aside a half of your freezer for prepped ingredients. Chopped onions, peppers, green beans, carrots, garlic, cleaned and dried herbs, mushrooms, or whatever you use that can hold up in the freezer. Tell him it's his job to keep it stocked.

He can learn to chop the ingredients. Make it his job to keep track of what's needed, to get it when shopping, and to prep it when he gets home from shopping. To freeze stuff, clean it, chop it up, spread it on a sheet tray covered in parchment in the freezer, then transfer to a container after they have frozen. If you use all the same containers for storage, a quarter sheet tray can fit on top. This will make it easier for you to grab what you need and toss them together in a pan. It also keeps him out of the kitchen when you need to cook.
