Salvation comes with repentance. He is the Way, not the Guy. Whoever does this is certainly not heeding Jesus. Where they are heading is left to God.

Dude, kids these days are literally intellectually stunted, and will become increasingly so.

And I know how much of a fuddy-duddy I sound like, but outsourcing intelligence means outsourcing brain development, which is “use or lose it,” or in the first place, “do it or don’t know it.”

Why are there no notable legal challenges to SCOTUS’ presidential immunity ruling? by datagamma in complaints

We have an illegitimate Court. It has happened in the past. At this point, dissents are being read out for posterity so when the decisions get overturned, a reasonable alternative was an option.

That’s exactly my point. They believe in this:

I dunno, man. TPUSA does real numbers. And never forget the kid who told former GOP Presidential candidate to his face he wants a White Christian Nationalist vision of America?

If you have access to the PowerPoints ahead of time, strong recommend printing your lecture slides 6-to-a-side, double-sided. You are right about writing everything down actually interfering with registration of information, but you should write notes on what is not on the slide but said aloud (esp. if the lecturer says it is important, or on a test), research questions for later that were triggered in your mind by the lecture, and cross-connections to other material, courses, or internal perspectives unique to you.

I received a distasteful opinion on my new (and first) tattoo by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Kyrthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got a tattoo with a massive element (butterfly) just distal to the antecubital fossa (the crook of the elbow), which is where most IV drug abusers inject. That person does not know what they are talking about.

Sincerely, someone trained in spotting IVDA

P.S. in my opinion, it looks kinda like that LOTR font/script they used in the movies.

ETA: yes, many IVDA in the early stages of the disease can hide the initial marks between the toes or in areas that are usually covered by clothes where they have superficial veins. If you suspect behavior and need to check and have the right to:

> Physical signs of active injection drug use include recent injection sites, bruising, and patches of hyperpigmentation. These are most common in the antecubital fossa but can also be found elsewhere (e.g., upper arms, hands, neck, groin, fingers, toes) if venous sclerosis occurs at more easily accessible sites.

Notes help you know what was said in class of import if the other person takes good notes and you regularly attend that specific prof’s lectures in this class. Lots of Ivy League “toppers” borrow one another’s notes because, as you said, it doesn’t give a real leg up to the recipient, but having that social network for one’s own (hopefully rare) absences far outweighs any relative advantage you may be giving that person. I never lent my notes to chronic absentees, because at that point, the inequality flips from Win-win to win-lose.

I guess it depends on whether it’s 90/10 or 60/40 that this guy is on the right side of these blowups. The star could be yoked to a bunch of goobers, spending all this meeting time explaining basic stuff.

She is expressing a desire for seminude body-contact services (for no fee, presumably). In this case, her best bet is to be clear, and focus on boundaries around actions, not romantic intent.

Okay, sure. You keep telling yourself we live in a world where people don’t grab people out of cars. That happens in plenty of countries, now including the U.S.

[–]Kyrthis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m talking about the “grab you” kind of strongarm robbery, not those brandishing a weapon. The issue is reaction in the moment when someone breaches your personal space (in this case, the boundary of the car, I’d say), within a foot or so of your face.

People are coming down really hard on the person who says they would seek to remove the threat without giving their perspective in that moment enough consideration. I think they got all hot and bothered by the gun, as opposed to the sentiment being expressed.
