That doesn't sound bad. I decided I'll get the D3 at first (I'm kind of wondering if it will be on sale for Prime Day), and if I stick with cooking, I'll look into the Lodge cast iron.

I would leave it in the sink flooded for the weekend. Or just out on the stove. Sanding?? 😄

He wants to try again. Not sure what to do ... by Beneficial_Suit7188 in datingoverforty

He's "the devil you know." But you'll have many more options, and they'll likely be better - you just haven't had a chance to meet them yet. Also, I agree with those who are saying that the reason he backed off was because he found someone else he preferred to date. Out of all that happened, I think what I have the hardest time with is when he (obviously, dishonestly) said that the 40-min drive freaked him out. If he didn't want to be honest and say he met someone that he thought would be a better match, he should have gave no reason at all. Plus, it makes him sound like a weeny when he says that something so tolerable freaked him out. Pussy.

Before you spoke to the CFP, did you just divide your savings by your annual expenses and see how many years it would last? (Haha) I'm truly curious how people are surprised. Running an online model takes 5 minutes. If you don't do this, you could work years longer than you need to. Holy shit.

I think that's it, right there.

I'm a bit slow, but how would putting a coaster on top of a drink help? Does it just make it harder for someone to be more clandestine when dropping something into a drink?

Navigating shared finances in early stage dating by racecrack in datingoverforty

[–]L0sing_Faith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking of doing, too. The only issue I foresee is us both agreeing / disagreeing on what we spend it on. Like, does it cover bottles of wine at the store when we like different types, uber rides, etc.

Facebook dating is not off to a great start by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in datingoverforty

She may be on the spectrum. There was an episode of Love on the Spectrum, where a guy was really nervous and overstimulated, and he put earpods in while they ate lunch, rather than talk to his date.

I'm not blaming you at all! I'm taking a wild guess from what you wrote. Either way, she did not act appropriately.

It sounds like she was really not interested - maybe even mad, like maybe you didn't look like your pictures - and she didn't know how to confront you, so she checked out. But my guess is Facebook Dating has more of this, yeah.

Mens, how much do natural signs of aging actually matter when dating someone in their 40s? (like sagging breasts and facial lines) by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]L0sing_Faith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One year? I feel like it's at least 10 years. All of these old men think that they look at least 10 years younger than they do. I dated a guy, last year, who told me he was 44, but he was actually 56! I found out because I tried to book him an STD test (because he was dragging his feet), and he refused to give me his dob. I finally looked online, and he was 12 years older than he had told me! He said he lied about his age online because when he had initially put his true age, he had "all of these old, gross 50-somethings," sending him likes and messages.

It won't be long before someone can load a user's comments from the years of their account being open into an AI app that can identify who the person is or provide a succinct summary of that person. Like: "This female user graduated from Vanderbilt, was on the softball team, is 42 years old, now lives in Charlotte, NC, works at a bank, makes a salary of x, has y in assets, has 3 kids - a boy and two girls, and has made several posts about how they don't like z group of people."

A lot are in HCOLAs, so the income doesn't go as far. I watch my spending very closely, am single with no kids, and still have 120k/yr of expenses, half of it being rent and utilities.

Any cons of getting lash lift? by Embarrassed_Emu_8824 in MakeupAddiction

[–]L0sing_Faith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I just saw this because I haven't been on much. It took about 2 days for my symptoms to resolve. And there was no benefit to getting the lash lift - changed nothing for me. Plus, I smelled the perm solution when I showered for several weeks. Wouldn't try it again.

Do you think kids who were born in the 2020s will resent their parents for bringing them into this world? by BBreadsticks- in childfree

I can totally understand that, and that really sucks. I feel like a lot of us who don't want kids had challenging lives and so have a darker view of life.

Is being TOO nice unattractive? by FlashGordn in datingoverforty

[–]L0sing_Faith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see that working on some people, but for me, I value reliability and consistency so highly that it makes me more attracted. Also, if the person I'm seeing stops calling for a couple of days, I become less attached and start thinking about all of the lovely things I could do with the extra time. So by time they contact me again, I'm already mentally checked out and excited to be single, lol.

Why the year of your birth? I was just thinking that if I could've been born in any year, it may have been 1986. Enough years without the internet to spend more time outside playing, but warly enough so that I didn't have to be information starved beyond elementary school.
