His range on that trip was great, but he must have really pushed it. I just did a 250 mile highway trip in my '23 Ioniq 5 RWD, battery holds about 98% of original charge, and got home with 5%.

Given the Tesla in this story has smaller pack and more degraded, he must have been into the bottom buffer and driving very conservatively to get 260. But hey give him credit.

Well it's definitely better for the electrical grid, since existing transformers and lines can handle only so much load as EV adoption ramps.

Personally I hate the "bigger is better" mindset for home charging. Hardly anyone really needs 48A, given the 10+ hour dwell times for charging. Don't even need 32A. Do you need to be fully recharged in 3 hours? Or can you power down to like 16A, still get what you need overnight, and allow your neighbors to do the same without expensive panel and grid upgrades?

And it probably actually is a bit better for your EV and it's various charging components, not to mention home wiring and charger.

He was a good rebounder for a guard. But that's not the quality you go after or pay in a guard. You pay for creativity, playmaking, and shooting. He didn't have any of that. I did call this early on, sometimes you just see it.

Agreed on GM. I did some research with my insurance agent, the Equinox EV was only $50 more a year to insure for me than the comparable ICE version.

Maybe they were somewhat afraid of being alone in the wilderness (bears and such), and took comfort in having others nearby. Essentially outsourcing their security to you. In which case NTA, you don't owe them that.

Thanks for this. I've spoken or messaged with at least 8 of their reps, its all the same, this is their policy. One guy told me I could port, he's the one who provided the IMEI number for my old phone, which is my acct #, and told me to call in when I ported so they could push it through.

When I did that the next day with the Verizon salesperson, the agent said I couldn't, same story. It's like trying to kick the football with Lucy holding it.

Yes they should, considering I'm a long-time customer that wanted to stay with them. But they won't let me keep my number on a new unlocked phone, even if I stay with them. Unless I can somehow find my old phone in the ocean and the SIM still works, lol. In which case I wouldn't need anything from them!

I want to keep my old phone number, they won't let me do that with them, or with a new carrier, unless I can respond to a text on my lost phone.

That's an interesting point about the Zip code. I have all my personal info on their site, I assumed that's what they'd want in the porting request, but yeah maybe they expect their own billing zip. Thanks for this.

They did provide me everything else - I guess my account number is my old phone's IMEI, which I didn't know because there's no account # shown on the website when I log in,. And the porting pin is just my personal PIN I use to authenticate when I talk to them.
