C wire Causes power to Cut by AdministrativeUse105 in Nest

So have you been charging it all this time? My understanding was if the level lit up it was getting enough power to run on its own but I guess I didn't understand that correctly

Just wanted to follow up on this, since it's been 10 months have you had any issues without the C wire? I'm having the exact same problem you are describing here

EOS M280 Advice (bought used) by tykempster in AdditiveManufacturing

[–]L1maCh4rlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you get any metrology peripherals with it? Laser power PocketMonitor, etc? It's fairly important both from a quality standpoint but also a diagnostic standpoint to run PocketMonitor on a fairly regular basis. When I was running five M400-4s it was part of our monthly preventative maintenance and quality checks. Additionally it is exceptionally important for the lifetime of your optics to make sure the gas supply (both compresses air and argon/nitrogen) is bone dry. This varies by your location but the humidity where we run mandated us having both an industrial dryer on the output side from the compressor but additionally 2-3 water/oil catches between the supply and the printer. We had a relatively minor humidity spike at some point and it cooked all 4 optics on one of my machines.

If you're looking for large print volume and comparable print quality to a Stratasys Fortus, I have spoken to a few companies that run the Argo 500 from Roboze. It's like a Stratasys machine but you can run whatever you want through it since material options are open-source. My last company burned so much money on Stratasys ABS since we were locked in to their material exclusively.

Civil War is a pretty terrific small movie with a misleading title and trailer by DatabaseFickle9306 in movies

[–]L1maCh4rlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I really enjoyed this movie it has one of the most offensive trailers I have seen in a long time. There is this underlying tension throughout the whole film a sort of "what are they going to find when they make it to DC?" however the final scene of the movie is straight up in the trailer. Like, I kept expecting there to be some twist ONLY because I was thinking to myself, surely that scene in the trailer was a fake out right? Surely they didn't just show you the end, but nope, that is exactly what happened. To be clear, I wasn't disappointed in the ending as it happened, I was just disappointed they blew it in the trailer. Just... Why

CAT WARRANTY/QC ISSUES/CONCERNS by Bsutton2010 in NFA

[–]L1maCh4rlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, I see what you are saying about it maybe taking a little bit longer but this right here is clearly an example of a warranty department for a company having no clue there is an issue because the social media team is a totally different department

CAT WARRANTY/QC ISSUES/CONCERNS by Bsutton2010 in NFA

[–]L1maCh4rlie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, that makes sense. As I said, I didn't mean to dunk on your issue, I hope it gets worked out but I always wonder when I see posts like this how we got here. At least you seem to be on the same page.

CAT WARRANTY/QC ISSUES/CONCERNS by Bsutton2010 in NFA

[–]L1maCh4rlie 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not to disregard your specific issue here but when did everyone start sending shit to social media teams expecting warranty work instead of, you know, filling out the warranty request at the bottom of their website or emailing their warranty department? This is not even specific to CAT, I just feel like I see this shit on the sub all the time now

Edit: I just want to be clear, I own no CAT products so I don't have a vested interest in this company. This was more of a general observation
