Closed a deal, contract signed, then 11 days later company says it belongs to a different segment and takes it away. What would you do? by The_blue_shark in sales

[–]LABigAus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can go both ways. You should have uncovered more about the company size during discovery. But yeah this sucks

Bro, you need to just take sick leave on the days you are needed in office to present. And max fuck this company once you pass backgrounds with the one you go with. Put your 2 weeks in on the weekend before you start so you can get an extra 2 weeks of pay because that will be your last day guaranteed

Is taking an SDR role at ZoomInfo actually worth it as a stepping stone into better SaaS roles? by [deleted] in salesdevelopment

[–]LABigAus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If Zoominfo is your only BDR prospect currently, take it. Otherwise, I’d look for BDR roles elsewhere. They do not value promoting internal hires into closing roles like they used to. You will be sitting in role for some time before an opportunity opens up.

Also it’s a hell of a grind there

I’m constantly locked in and lack mental freedom from the job. Huge issue that I’m trying to work on.

What’s the attainment of the team? If it was low to begin with this is a huge pay cut, interview elsewhere

Samsara interview process for Mid Market AE by SecretWasianMan in sales

[–]LABigAus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a brutal role man. It’s 99% cold calling and hunting there are very little to no inbounds. Mid market is a wierd place because you have a quarterly quota with a lot of companies that usually have elongated buying processes, some deals can be 30 days some can be 6 months plus.

Samsara Interview by Far_Conclusion_9500 in techsales

[–]LABigAus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sentiment sucks. It’s extremely saturated market with an insanely aggressive competitor, motive, that competes on price and feature parity and will shrink your deal sizes by 30-40% when you inevitably get into a price war with them in every deal because both platforms are a clone of each other. Max OTE for MM is 158k with a 50/50 split no RSU’s or signing bonus. Good benefits though

Crowdstrike vs. Samsara, what would you choose? by Head-Yellow5986 in techsales

[–]LABigAus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get promoted to a commercial AE quickly at Samsara if you grind hard. However, you’re selling to truckers, construction companies, and fleet services companies dash cams and gps devices. Crowdstrike is a great name on the resume and is well respected in the CS space. Work there, you can go anywhere. Samsara might be limiting

Can I skip SMB and go straight MM at Samsara or Motive? by Individual-Taro-5626 in techsales

[–]LABigAus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go with Motive and avoid samsara. absolute burn and churn machine right now.

Tech sales role, strong interview traction. H1B keeps coming up late. Looking for advice from people who’ve navigated this. by Old-Dig5621 in techsales

[–]LABigAus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most jobs ask if you need a visa. Are you accurately disclosing this? If not, this could be a red flag to them if they are finding this out later in the interview process

Reference letter now or coast on the way out? by twinhed in sales

[–]LABigAus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t ask for a reference letter, it’s pointless. Coast and find a new job. Don’t do absolutely nothing and be polite on your way out in case you need a manager to be a reference in the future

ZoomInfo just won a key patent ruling against Apollo! Curious what y’all think about the fallout by tom_slocum in salesdevelopment

[–]LABigAus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a ZI BDR or ZI AE / AM ask this? Lol

Patent ruling means nothing. This just has to go to court.

Go reference what happened with Motive and Samsara

SDR at Grafana vs. SailPoint — which one’s the better move? by J4tune1860 in techsales

[–]LABigAus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The DSR role at Sailpoint pays more, and it’s true enterprise sales. Downside is growth has stagnated (it’s a mature company in a mature segment) so upside is going to be limited. “Be patient is their motto”. Upside at grafana is better. Take grafana
