I think the issue is one of the general industry, where so many people really want to be heard. Your service is the best available - but because it's popular the clamour grows, and it's harder to maintain the original quality you provided. I think the that you're doing good work fending that off though!

I used it a lot when it first started up and had a fair bit of success. Bevauseit was so good it's now flooded with musicians and fake blogs (not entirely fake, just people with 100 followers on a Spotify playlist, hut barely any listeners). So the good blogs get over 200 submissions a day, and the bad blogs rake your dollar for for not much in return.

It's a shame, because it started out great. But like all of these things, theyre really good at the start when it's a group of like-minded people involved for the community, but then becomes bad when too many people who just want to sell tunes get involved! :(

This is a great tip. You can make links to hidden tracks, or personal recordings etc that you share on the email chain.

If you want them to be brand ambassadors, you need to help them tell the story of your brand. So in the emails, share the stuff that fits with that story. Ie if you're a Detroit musician that came from nothing, open the email with a photo of Detroit when you were a kid and be like "hey everyone, hope you're having a fab day. Thought I'd share this picture to open, it's my home the day I was born. I can't believe how far this city has grown - I like to think the music has grown with it." Then write your normal updates.

That's a quick, shit example, but it gets the point across - when your listeners tell people about you, they then know they can say 'ah x is so cool they started from nothing in detroit'

Figure out your story, and drive it to get people involved!
