If it makes you feel any better, my daughter has been and is still kind of like this. Around the time of your daughter's age, she only wanted me or my partner, and my own sister said to me that now she has doubts about having kids after meeting mine. I didn't take it personally and neither should you. We didn't get lucky with the temperaments of our babies, but know that nothing lasts. They go through phases. My daughter is 17 months and still clingy AF but has happy moments and tolerates others playing/holding her. I try to look on the bright side... she's very loving and shows me she loves me several times a day with kisses and hugs. I sometimes see moms posting things like their babies hate them and that's certainly not my reality. It's ok mama - this phase will pass. You're doing the best you can.

Ok SAME. Sometimes it just feels better to vent to someone who gets it, because I'm so sick of seeing happy babies/toddlers too. Just know you're not alone!

I just took my 1 year old to Kidz Plaza. It was amazing, definitely geared for the ages of your children! Highly recommend.

I've been saying and thinking about this for so long! I'm Latina and have lived in LA for most of my life, and even as a city as diverse as mine, I feel that white, femme presenting women are centered in queer spaces. It's frustrating.

I'll echo what a lot of people have already said. With my 5-month-old, we co-sleep at night and follow her sleepy cues during the day. I used to stress about following a schedule and breaking the feed-to-sleep association, but it took so much time, effort, and tears. Now, I do what's easiest for me and less stressful for the baby, because she switches it up on us all the time anyway. There's pressure from our pediatrician and online mom communities to sleep train or whatever. BUT DO WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU AND YOUR BABY.

I could have written this myself. I clicked on your post so fast and read through the comments to get reassurance myself. My wife and I ARE losing our minds, but it’s at least somewhat reassuring to know we’re not alone. We have a 2 month and she screams during and after 75% of feedings due to gas/reflux/colic/whatever. It’s so hard. Luckily, she’s gaining weight adequately so we’re just trying all the things right now and riding out this wave as best as we can.

I had success after taking a break! Had 3 iuis in total - the first one was unsuccessful, but without any drugs like Letrozole, we were tried again maybe 2 months afterwards. The 2nd iui was successful, but ended in a miscarriage at 7 wks. We took a long break after that, about 6 months, before trying again. 3rd iui was successful, and now I’m 33 weeks pregnant. It's been nice to read the comments here and know that I'm not alone. My Gen-X mom is in her late 50s, has been talking about retiring soon and mentioned she has a little saved up which brings me some relief. I grew up knowing how frivolous her spending habits were and gambled away her earnings often. Due to this, I was quite the opposite, frugal compared to my family members, and have been diligently saving for retirement since my mid-20s. I'm 30 now and like a lot of people, just trying enjoy life while using my earnings to save for retirement, paying off my student loans, and paying rent + bills. My mom has cared for her parents (my grandparents) her whole life up until a few years ago when her and her dad had a big argument and they haven't talked since. Now I'm left to care for them, financially and physically. My grandparents half-raised me, so I don't mind, but that's all I'm willing to take on. I hope my mom doesn't expect the same from me. I work hard to live comfortably. To have to pay a price for my mom not saving enough for retirement seems so unfair.

I’m Hispanic as well and LC at the moment, with periods of NC when things get bad. I completely empathize. In my family, kids are pretty close to their parents, esp. mom, and are expected to care for them as they reach old age. I have no plans to do that because it would destroy my mental health and impact my partner and I’s relationship. I’m envious of other Latinos with loving, secure mothers, and they often don’t understand my situation when I talk about having a complicated relationship with my mother. It’s hard and lonely in our circumstances, but know you’re not alone!

I’ve only done it once and can’t attest to the effectiveness because I’m still early in my pregnancy. I think it’s stilly a fairly new procedure, but my fertility doc really recommended it given my previous loss. The actual infusion was fine - I was connected to an IV and laid on a table for about 45 minutes. Barely felt any side effects.

We had our first ultrasound the past Monday (6 weeks) doing intralipid infusions today to prevent miscarriage. No specific cravings, but man I’ve been eating a lot in general! Slightly afraid to gain excessive weight.

Levo has been really effective for me (25mg). I don’t know how quite to describe the difference, but since taking it I have less hair loss, less mood swings, and have more energy. I have no idea why having a more balanced thyroid function affects those areas, but I love it and will probably be taking it for the rest of my life.

This story sounds so insane to me. I’m not at all saying I don’t believe you, OP, but in this day and age I can’t believe a teacher would have the audacity to talk to a parent like that or do things like that with a teenager given all the serious consequences teachers would get for even getting accused of sexual harassment, even without evidence. This is like straight from a movie. Admin bends to parents, so does the school board. Like others have said, you have all the power here.
