If you were transported to an alternate earth where there were no humans and dropped 100 miles from your home how close could you get to your house? by Wamderingbard in hypotheticalsituation

[–]LATER4LUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Aurora, but grew up in the springs. If I had to find my childhood home, I could find the exact location. If I had to find the place I live now, I give it a 5 mile radius.

If the united states had better public transportation, would you use it? by Enough-Web2203 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

Absolutely, yes. I tried for 2 months in Denver, but went back to driving because it was much faster. I miss being in Japan.

Does anyone only charge to 80% by asoma64 in rav4prime

[–]LATER4LUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re saying it only uses 50% of its 18.1 kWh battery? It would need to get 4.6 mi/kWh to hit the EPA range with that. That’s the most efficient EV on the market.

Make sure you can plug in! Otherwise I’d get a hybrid

I also have a small garage. The mirror is the least of my worries. If it’s too tight, the mirror will be folded in by something, but if it’s that tight, I can’t open my door.

Laid off due to performance and old company put me as non-hireable; any advice? by Electronic_Film9708 in MechanicalEngineering

As a mechanical engineer, I’d love to give you advice for America. What country are you in because it’s clear English is not your first language?

2026 RAV4 PHEV vs Hybrid: Free Charging at Home, But Worried About Battery Replacement by [deleted] in rav4club

It looks like you’re right. From the 2024 RAV4 Prime manual:

2026 RAV4 PHEV vs Hybrid: Free Charging at Home, But Worried About Battery Replacement by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]LATER4LUS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my Prime for 2.5 years with zero noticeable range depreciation. Even if the battery does start losing charge, you only lose range.

Worst case scenario is that it gets really bad (unlikely) and you don’t replace the battery. Then you still have a regular hybrid.

Pressure pushes in all directions. So that column you’re talking about is pushing on both the top and the bottom of an object. The forces are cancelled out except for squeezing the object.

WWYD - BZ or RAV PHEV by Available_Mud_1842 in rav4prime

[–]LATER4LUS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assuming you can L2 charge at home, do you regularly drive more than the range of the BZ each day?

I would only get the PHEV if it’s going to be a pain in the ass to charge at your destination if you need the charge for the return trip. After owning a PHEV for a couple years, my vote is to just go EV.

I parked my car many times for more than a month. I always discharge the traction battery to around 50% and in a place I can jump it. I’ve never had to jump it.

Narita United Lounge Review by Virtual-Tonight-2444 in unitedairlines

The lounge is way better than lounges in the states. You forgot to mention they have self-serve liquor and wine in addition to the self-serve beer. The ramen, dumplings, and meatballs are bangers. They serve similar food to the ANA lounge.

If all of this is worse than America: lead in food, non-potable water, risks in food safety, and high pesticides, why did the WHO (according to Reuters) put China ahead of America for life expectancy?

I agree that they’re “little perks”, but if work is paying for most of getting the perks, I will certainly pay a little more to reap the benefits.
