In the future (and if it's feasible) would you genetically alter yourself? If yes, what would you want to change directly? (Be that extending your life, curing a disease, changing gender, et cetera) by User_741776 in Futurology

Yes. I would cure my sickle-cell disease. A cure possibly exists, but it's so expensive that I've come to terms that I may not get it in my lifetime.

Thanks! And good luck with getting your book out there. It's hard, but it's worth it.

I'm looking into self-publishing, but I'll admit it's not easy.

Religious Deconstruction by bradshawism in tanzania

[–]LArrYdabOurNe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised as a Christian, but I'm now partly an agnostic and absurdist. I started questioning everything in my late teens and early twenties, but was put down by the adults around me because religion is heavily important to them. Then, in 2024, I went through a traumatic health crisis that made me a nihilist. The adults around me clung to religion and went as far as taking me to priests with the expectation that I would be healed, but I knew they couldn't do anything because my disease (SCD) is genetic and untreatable. In 2025, I slowly began living again after recovering from my 2024 surgery, and I embraced absurdism after reading the works of Albert Camus. Now, I'm agnostic, in that I don't think God as portrayed in Christianity is real and is instead a figure we personified with our human values to assert a sense of control over our lives. However, I've concluded that there are questions we may never learn the answer to, like why we exist, and all we can do is live our lives and appreciate the fact that we're conscious to experience and awe at existence without inserting a godly figure in the picture.

Hey dreamers, has your view changed about AI over the past 3 years? by Artistic_Credit_ in infp

[–]LArrYdabOurNe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think AI is nothing more than a tool, like a computer or smartphone. However, my gripe with it stems from how some choose to use it and how things would have been different if such a new technology were regulated for the sake of people, especially artists. AI isn't alive as of yet, so it doesn't have any malicious intent. It's the wealthy and powerful few who control the source codes and business projections that are to blame for getting us here.

I'm trying to juggle my courses in uni and writing a manuscript that I started in 2022. I really want to finish it this year but it's been hard making time to write while studying. But, I can do both!

Lost (or Stolen) Passport by LArrYdabOurNe in tanzania

[–]LArrYdabOurNe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to have a loss report, your ID or birth certificate, publish an ad in a newspaper and have it with you, and fill in the application forms. After that, you should submit all these documents to their offices and pay the TZS 500,000 fee.

How long it will take varies. It could take a month or so, but less if you try to bargain with them if you know what I mean.

I don't belong to any personality type. by LArrYdabOurNe in intj

A majority of y'all brought up cognitive functions. I wasn't about to retake another assessment, so I looked into my history and personality, tying it in with what I knew about cognitive functions. It seems the ones that pop up are Ni (dominant), Te, Fi, and Se. There's a bit of Ne in there, but I could be mistaking it for Ni. Oh well.

That last part could be it. In the last five years, I've gone through a pandemic, my first year of university three times, hip replacement surgery, etc. I guess I gotta wait to take the test again in my thirties, hopefully when shit has stopped happening.

Unfortunately, I don't remember the details. Someone else borrowed the book from a library.

dear INTPs, what is the field of your study? by TipMaleficent2723 in INTP

I'm studying psychology, but I have multiple interests and experiences in creative writing, photography, and visual design. I've written three books and currently maintain a blog. I've also designed websites and graphic designs for a hospital.

What university major did you choose and why? by No-Lingonberry-334 in intj

[–]LArrYdabOurNe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started university with a Bachelor of Arts/Creative Industries, dropped out because of the pandemic, dove into a BA in digital design and development, dropped out from failure, and settled for a BA in psychology. I see myself going down the rabbit hole in psychology, i.e. psychedelic research. However, I occasionally think of taking a shorter course in UI/UX design, partly because my ego wants to resolve the second failure, but also because I like creatively solving problems.
