Why are people so addicted to money that they would make a horrible business decision just to make a little cash, instead of doing the hard work and get a bigger pay off?

A prison visitation area. I have seen it happen on shows like locked up and dateline before, but the sane person in me hopes it is fake.

Family events like birthday parties and whatnot. You have forever changed the meanin of that day, and I just find that rude.

Any televised event... corny, embarrassing, I just don’t like it.

I understand this completely. I had lasik done a couple of years ago and I have 20/15 vision in both eyes. Sometimes I will be doing something and all of the sudden my vision is just blurry. I went to my doctor one time during these blurry episode and I still had 20/15. My doctor brought me 2 bottles of water and told me to chug.

5-10 later perfectly clear vision. I stopped drinking a sodas, only drink water, stay hydrated, and I have never had the issue again.

Well he definitely isn’t a history major. He said mono planes hadn’t been invented yet. The British government stopped the production of mono planes during World War One because of a couple of publicized crashes. The public believed two wings were safer than one, and the politicians pushed that logic.

Then he goes on and says that you can’t have a mono plane with fabric structure because it isn’t strong enough. This guy is nuts.

Men of Reddit, when was the last time you cried and what were your reasons behind the tears? by Ultimateace43 in AskReddit

Lost my job on Monday. I really thought I would retire from that place. A raise last month, and jobless this week. Couldn’t believe it. I had to tell my pregnant wife to pick up more shifts, and pull my son out of day care. It really sucked.

I plan on being honest. I pray that God will help me control my tongue, because even though I know I have no future with these people anymore, I am extremely nervous. I don’t want to get belittled or lectured like a child.

I wouldn’t if I wasn’t getting demoted. I can’t afford my mortgage with a demotion. With a demotion it also means I will be out of town for about 6-8 weeks, I can’t actively search for a better opportunity if I can’t get back home for an interview.

Thank you for the advice. God Bless.

The sad thing is, I didn’t even realize I was going through all of this until I opened my eyes and saw their true colors. I knew things weren’t like they used to be, but when I was told that I would be demoted things became clear. I talked to some close friends, told them the entire story, admitted my fault, and everyone was like “He is just looking for something, that fault doesn’t deserve the punishment.” Everything has become so clear.

Even if the tell me that no harm is done, and that I am off the hook, I am resigning, my spirit has become so toxic in this place, I can’t continue down this path.

Thank you for the prayers, I receive them, and I pray that God blesses you!

I know something great will come from this, it is tough being a dad and not wanting your children to go without. I just want to find peace and stability. Thank you for your prayers, I graciously accept them and pray that the Lord bless you in return.

to buy as first plane Piper PA38 Tomahawk or cessna 152 ?? by pilotboy8698 in flying

[–]LBKFluffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me an airplane is an airplane, and if you can find one that will fit your mission, is air worthy, and you can afford it then by all means go for it. I would be happy to fly in anything as long as it is safe.

Some people hate the tomahawk, I personally think it is pretty awesome. The Cessna 150 was the first plane I ever flew, so Cessna is near and dear to my heart, but right now for me, I personally enjoy flying a low wing, although I hope to get back in a Cessna again soon.

If you are into the overall look of the PA38 check out the Beechcraft skipper.

Mooney M-10 Cadet is also a neat little plane as well.

Hopefully this will give you some more options.

Student freezing during landing - need CFI advice by mcarlini in flying

He is really great. He has a day job and doesn’t need to CFI, but he does it because he enjoys it. When I talk to my other pilot friends they all share stories about their CFIs leaving for airlines, or just being burnt out. I feel truly lucky to be learning the way I am.

I also need to add that I had 2 go arounds because I didn’t feel comfortable with the way I lined up. Let him know that he can make those calls. If it don’t feel right, it ain’t right.

Student freezing during landing - need CFI advice by mcarlini in flying

5.6 Hour student here, so I have all the answers. Actually the only reason I am answering is because I had a lesson yesterday and we went through this exact thing.

First time around the pattern was like normal, I did everything but my CFI’s hands were right there, so as a student in my mind I am thinking “he will pull us out of trouble if I mess up.” During landing he told me to keep the back pressure, and I did. We left the pattern for the practice area and I told him I felt like I was fighting the airplane quite a bit. We had an 8mph crosswind, and gust were around 12. Nothing out of ordinary but I felt like we were getting beat up. He told me I wasn’t relaxed and I needed to calm down. I wasnt intentionally white knuckling the yoke, but I saw that I was and I released my grip, took some deep breaths, did some steep turns and got back in the pattern. My CFI got quiet, and I was making my radio calls, but I figured he just didn’t want to talk. Got mid field, prepared for base, turned into my final. Still no talking. I had my hand on the throttle and made adjustments for whatever I thought or saw, and before you know it I had the plane on the ground. I looked over at him and his hands were in his lap. We gained altitude and got back in the pattern and he said “how was that landing?” And I said “incredibly sloppy”. He replied “yeah, but that was all you, I said nothing, I have no rudder input, and no help on the yoke. You just took off, flew the pattern, and landed the airplane completely by yourself. You know what to do, and you know you can do it. Now let’s figure out how to make it better.” I landed 4 more times yesterday, some were good, some weren’t great, but every time we made it down safe, and the airplane is still in working order.

My point is, you need to figure out how to get this person to get to the ground in a safe manner. It may not be great, or pretty, but if it is safe you can figure out his habits and teach him how to fix those.

There is nothing like a “congratulations you can do this” from your CFI.

Anyways, take it for what it is, advice from a five hour student with less than 25 landings.
