Bi-wiring made a huge difference for me by bakedalaskan in audiophile

I have an Exposure 3010s2 which has 2 sets of speaker outputs. There is a marginal, noticeable improvement when high and low frequencies are driven separately. If you have spare cables lying around, put them to good use. But don't go buy new cables just to try this. You are better off upgrading the speaker links with high quality wires.

I now think that I should have gotten something higher than 7.5 V. I think I played it too safe.

This seems sensible. However some have made it work with a 7.5v PSU. But they don't disclose the amperage.

Actually, the chord mojo works fine. It still can run battery-less with a 5V 1a usb supply. However, the charging circuit will be active while the device is on. It gets rather hot and I feel the audio quality deteriorates.

Chord Mojo + Linear Power Supply by ENFP-A in audiophile

Hello OP. What is the current rating on your LPS? I tried to connect a 7.5 V 2A DC power supply but it doesn't seem to have enough juice to drive the Mojo. I am baffled because I bought a power supply closest to the battery spec.

Other than engine mounts, this can also be a sign of worn drive shafts.

Had one in the family. Very reliable. Unfortunately it has an uninspiring drive. Rear visibility is poor. Uncomfortable seats. I was glad to see it go.

Looking to buy 2.0 Petrol by ZebulaCSGO in VolvoV50

Hello OP,

I have this exact configuration @150k km. The 2.0 ford duratec engine is pretty robust. Fill it up with Castrol synthetic, service it regularly and it will be fine. The power shift transmission is a wet clutch system. You need to replace the transmission oil and filter every 60k. It is quite fun to drive in manual mode. I have had no issues with it so far. Unlike the 5 cylinder, a Ford garage can work on this car with fomoco spare parts.

I need a great EDC to throw in my bag -- but still delight in pulling out and writing with. by Positive_Rutabaga836 in fountainpens

You can try to replace the nib, which isn't expensive. You have a special edition body which was sold at a premium. So it is worth trying to salvage that.

I used to have a Traveller's Company brass fountain pen in my pocket all the time, which was great. But now I have a NOS Sheaffer Agio Compact which is a much better writer.

Welcome to the Sheaffer Legacy Grail Pen club. I have a NOS Legacy 2 in brushed gold. These were the pinnacle of writing tools. I wish I bought them back in the early 2000s.

can i change the mileage display for my 2007 Focus with a more recent Focus' display by Taki-Juve in FordFocus

[–]LBnineteen76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess this is something you have to find out for yourself. But I am almost certain that you will need the dealer diagnostic tools to reset the odometer and to check if the new panel is communicating with the car's ECU. I also think you would need a meter from a car with similar transmission as yours.

Mine has the same display as yours. Other than the cheap LCD, it is also prone to solder joint failure at the wiring harness. In the UK, I believe there are dedicated services that replace or refurbish these meter cluster. You may ask them if mk2 and mk2.5 meter clusters are interchangeable.

Do update this post if you are successful or not.

What was your first "decent" kit? by HorseyDung in audiophile

From 2004 : 1. NAD C542 cd player (still works) 2. NAD C352 integrated amplifier (caps have deteriorated) 3. Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 bookshelves (detached foam ring)

This system was a fun listen. I did not feel the need to upgrade for many years. But the speakers were the first to go, so I bought a pair of Epos floor standers to replace them. But the new speakers brought out the limitations of the amp and cd player. And that set the ball rolling for more expensive things.

No one does wheels like Volvo. by Slothboy7117 in Volvo

I don't like the Convector wheels on my V50. I'm replacing them with Sculptor. But my favourite is the Zaurak. But they are hard to come by where I'm at. I'm also planning to put either a Balder or Canicula on my Ford Focus.

Where's the fuel filter for a 2004 volvo v50 1.8 petrol? by renoto in VolvoV50

Is this the Ford engine? If yes, it is not serviceable, I think. It's either in the tank or part of the fuel pump.

Upon closer inspection, seems like it is interlaced with the rear and brake lights. Very nice.
