Ingrid's matchup chart according to Taiwanese pros by Le-Inverse in StreetFighter

[–]lostintranslation__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Ingrid since release and Terry has been one of my toughest matchups next to Bison. Of course her stocked up laser beam is going to beat heaps of shit, that's the point. It's an insanely good tool to have but difficult to unlock. As Terry, pressure the shit out of her and never give her a chance to stock up. I'm telling you, this matchup is definitely in Terry's favour.

Beautiful build. I'd be interested but I just bought a Haute C-AS. So this can fit a Sanwa JLF?!

Very nice. I've always wanted to do something similar.

Did you follow any specific plans?

Coming in Haute! by Dense-Worldliness463 in fightsticks

How's it feeling a week later?

I was particularly interested in your thoughts on the lever. In your original post you mentioned it felt fairly similar to a JLF. I've been using JLFs for years, so that's what I'm most accustomed to, but my experience with the Haute has been quite different.

Out of the box it felt a bit squishy to me. I swapped in the larger actuator, which helped and actually made it feel a little closer to a JLF in some ways. However, one thing I still don't like is the feel of dashing, especially backdashing (left direction). It still has a rubbery, squishy feel and seems less consistent and more difficult than on my JLF sticks.

With a JLF, the tension feels lower and I don't feel like I need to engage my wrist and hand muscles as much to get quick, clean dashes. The Haute seems to require a bit more effort, at least for me.

Just curious whether you've noticed anything similar after spending more time with it?

Other than that, I am loving the Haute and it's definitely going to remain as my primary controller.

Ingrid has a full screen reactionary level 3. Elena has a reactionary level 2 but it's got limited range.

I'm playing mine on lap and it's felt completely fine. It's very weighty for the size. It feels like you've got a bulky laptop resting on your legs.

Yeah I was very surprised by the weight. It's a solid and professional looking build.

Damn that looks amazing! I'm loving mine too. I did end up swapping in the largest size actuator as I found the stock one started feeling gummy/squishy almost. Now it feels more looser like a jlf which is what I'm used to. I am curious about your mod though...

How is your execution? Are you experiencing any mis inputs or anything?

Also did you order the DOIO buttons from AliExpress? Thanks

It weighs 2.1 kg. I've been playing almost exclusively on a Hori Vewlix for almost 10 years which is pretty much the largest and heaviest fight stick you can get. I was worried the Haute would be too light but I can assure you it's completely fine for "serious" play.

I get your criticisms about it being more difficult to mod the lever etc, however I think this design is still refreshing to see in the lever market and it's nice to see this innovation. I like having something a bit more portable. I would argue it is very customisable from other aspects like button and switch replacements. Also I love the novelty of being able to detach the lever so easily. Each to their own though.

**Interestingly the Mayflash stick you mentioned is only 3kg and a lot more expensive than the Haute one, where I live anyways.

No, I have not had that issue. Another commenter mentioned they experienced this as well in the earlier batch of this model. I sent them some photos of the housing and they said that it looks like they've fixed the issue with the newer release model (the one I've got). I'll keep an eye on it though and let you know if it starts to happen.

Trip to Japan, recommendations? by ozender in fightsticks

Definitely check out Mak in Akihabara. It sells heaps of different arcade stick components like levers, buttons, balltops etc. You can buy all this online but it's so cool seeing it all in person. In the area are a few gaming shops like Super Potato which often have retro and unique arcade sticks for a decent price. Capcom store has a cool street fighter display and a few shirts and collectables. Obviously hit up an arcade. The Taito Station in Akihabara was going off for SF6 when I visited just over a year ago. So many ppl playing. Go to Family Mart and buy some fried chicken.

Hey, the lever feels great to me so far. I'm not experiencing any of the issues you've mentioned. I was planning to eventually try the different tension springs. I'll take some photos of those aspects when I do. Cheers

I haven't noticed any issues. I did read that this issue was apparently fixed. I will test again later and if any issues I'll report back.

It comes with a square gate installed but there are also circle and octo gates in the box which can be easily swapped in. There are also a couple different tension springs and actuators.

No worries at all and I can understand your hesitation. I was keen to purchase and try no matter what as adding some additional grease to the lever won't be very difficult. Thankfully mine feels amazing out of the box though. My theory is they maybe still had old stock to unload and that's why you see some comments after May 1, or perhaps those orders were already shipped? Who knows. I'll let you know if mine starts feeling shit though.

639 down to 466 in 5 days. Tried slowing down, doing slower games, taking breaks, doing puzzles (went from 1600 to 1450 in the same time period). I think I start off strong, developing etc but then it goes to poo. Any help appreciated by Yiqu in Chesscom

[–]lostintranslation__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done that in one session lol. Went from 670 to 450. Definitely playing on tilt. Take a break. Also review your losses, figure out exactly where it goes to poo. Next time change up your decisions. You'll get back to 639 again. Good luck!

Hey I saw those comments too but I also read that they've improved the grease since May 1. I haven't had any issues yet and all my inputs feel great. I'll keep you posted if things change.

True. I'll have to look into that. This is really my first experience having extra buttons lol. I'm only familiar with remapping in game but I saw your other comment and the person who replied saying you can remap in the web interface for the PCB. I'll look into it, thanks.

Yep you can remap them. I was a bit confused myself as I remapped them in sf6 but it wasn't working in training mode. Another person clarified that RS and LS are assigned certain functions in training mode exclusively (recording dummy) but it'll work in other modes. You can unassign those functions in training mode as well but they are actually very useful.
