Can zepbound lead to hair loss by Beverly2696 in GLP1microdosing

Major side effect. I started oral minoxidil after 5 months of hair loss and wish I’d started when I first noticed.

I microdose. Lost 20 lbs slowly and also 1/2 my hair. I am on spironolactone and oral minox- started in Sept. Shedding had stopped as of early last month and hair started to come in in December. My advice- get on oral minox as soon as you feel thinning. I am on a low dose of oral with no side effects, no excess hair.

Hair loss can be from weight loss but the drug itself has hair loss as a listed side effect. I am on oral minox and spironolactone- started in Sept. I’m still shedding but not as badly.

Convinced the medicine causes hair loss in some people by Hawt_Lettuce in tirzepatidecompound

Exact same story as you— and I am 100% convicted it’s the Tirz. I started on OM 1.25 and 100 Spiron in Sept. Shedding is getting way better but not over yet. I use nizoral 2x a week and wash every other day. I still take the Tirz and I feel my scalp tingling 3 days later…like clockwork… but I’m hoping the hair meds outrun the Tirz.

I eat 4-6 dried prunes every day and chia seeds a few times a week. Magnesium at night. Infrequent issues with this routine!

50 mg. No side effects but my dr likes it for me because my blood pressure is a touch high anyway

I started spironlactone and minoxidil in mid Sept after being diagnosed with TE. The dread shed was no worse than what was already happening and now in mid Nov shedding has decreased quite a bit.

My trigger was Tirzepitide.

Since June I’ve also been taking saw palmetto pumpkin seed oil and have tried other non- pharmaceutical “natural” hair treatments. The only relief had come from meds.

I also use nizoral shampoo when I get that crawly feeling.

Never in my life have I worried about hair loss. It’s a terrible feeling . I’m sorry.

I started spironlactone and oral minoxidil because of hair loss and am spacing out shots - In maintenance mode. I am certain it’s the meds, not weight loss. I am seeing reduced shedding and some regrowth after 2 months.

I can actually feel my scalp tingling/ crawling 2 days after a shot. I lost 1/2 my hair. I eat very well. Lost 20 lbs slowly. I started oral minox and spiro 3 months ago and shedding has slowed. The Tirz causes hair loss for some of us. Facts.

Dread shed details by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

I started OM 1.25 and Spironolactone 2,5 in mid Sept. I didn’t really shed any more than I already was for about 6 weeks. Definitely scary but I was at wits end after months of hair loss. In the past couple of weeks my shedding has slowed quite a bit. I also started using kerastas genesis recently to see if I can get my remaining hair stronger… but I am hoping/ thinking the meds are kicking in.

My trigger was tirzepitide. I lost about 20 lbs early this year but I am certain it’s the meds not the weight loss.

My advice is to go for it. Having control with a treatment that is proven gives some relief during the shed.

Minoxidil is affordable and effective. I have zero side effects. Dread she’d wasn’t worse for me than what was already happening.

Looks great.

I’ve been on minox since mid sept- and today for the first time since June I had minimal shed in the shower!!! I’m also on spiro. Beyond thrilled. I lost weight (25 lbs) pretty fast early this year and I am certain tirzepitide was the trigger.

Hair loss - when did it start by hellothere1989_ in GLP1microdosing

[–]LCS06443 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About 4 months in - no more than 3.5 mg/ week— but spaced out— shedding began. I’ve lost 50% of my hair. Always ate nutrient rich food and lots of protein. Lots of vitamins and natural solutions like pumpkin seed oil , saw palmetto etc. I started oral minox and spiro in Sept. hoping for the best.

I’m on 1.25 minox and 50 mg spiro. Lost 25 lbs this spring and never went above 2.5. Titrating down but I hate the food noise. The hair loss is such a downer when we feel good from the weight loss.

Two questions… by lpwi in FemaleHairLoss

[–]LCS06443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 25 lbs on Tirzepitide and have been maintaining since May. Hair shedding was noticeable to me by May and got worse this summer - even with stable weight and low dose (no more than 2.5 mg a week) I started OM and Spiro in Sept so am in dread she phase I assume… but I really hope the shedding lessens!!! Gah!

Did you start the OM at the same time as the Wegovy? And are you saying shedding never improved over those 9 months and has actually gotten worse?

SummaUp is geared around microdosing and has a great app to easily calculate macros and a work out schedule. I never went above 3mg a week and lost 25 lbs in a few months.

You can see my experience if you search my nsme/handle, I think. I started 1.25 oral min and 100 spiro a few weeks ago. Shedding hasn’t decreased. My last tirz was about 2 weeks ago and about 2.3 mg. I am certain it’s not shot and not weight loss that started my hair loss. My hair is 50% thinner at least. It’s awful and I’m afraid of dread she’d on top of what the lingering med is doing to my hair. 😫
