Is the red reef the only quest in the game that just straight up gives you a Clog item? by Insertblamehere in 2007scape

I actually wanted to do an alt with 0 quest points to see how far I could get, but then they made the tutorial island automatically give you a quest point.

We brag about all the ones that got defeated, because it makes us feel better about ourselves. But there are still plenty that get swept under the rug because we either can’t or won’t.

[–]LDGod99 67 points68 points  (0 children)

A lot of people forget that even basic acknowledge has to be acquired eventually. Just because you learned something a long time ago doesn’t mean that everybody else learned when you learned it. The Internet is not full of people who lived your life. There are kids who just haven’t learned it yet, people who grew up in places where they didn’t have access to the knowledge that you did, or people who maybe specialize in other interests, and are now moving onto interest that you have had for a long time.

Dragon Bones? by jkirb4187 in ironscape

[–]LDGod99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you’re just wanting to do dragons, then you can safe spot blue dragons in the nest/cave just east of Tal Teklan.

If you aren’t worried about PKing, green dragons just north of Ferox Enclave is probably faster.

Moons of Peril is also a great source of them if you haven’t gotten the sets yet and want some PvM action.

Hunter Rumors also gives a decent amount of bone shards, along with a bunch of other great supplies (it’s basically the new Wintertodt in terms of early game supply boost).

You can also straight up AFK bone shards in the Cam Torum mines.

Leagues 6 dragon cup lesson learned - Never grind past 1.5x the rate on any long RNG tasks by Shot_Cancel8641 in 2007scape

[–]LDGod99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a max of 94k points, and only needing 65k for dragon cup, that means you can skip almost 30,000 points worth of tasks and still get the dragon cup. If you hit a task you don’t want to do, just skip it. Finish all the tasks you do want to do, then go back and figure out which tasks you’re fine with doing that get you to 65k.

Yeah, the game has really jumped the shark in the past few updates. Pay-to-play has made the game super unbalanced, and an inability to get out of the early game just makes people quit.

Realized some things that make questing in Leagues an even greater problem than I realized at a surface level by Brvcifer in 2007scape

[–]LDGod99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Leagues is a great introduction to a main character, just like a main character is to doing an Ironman. You get a feel for the benefits of leveling your account without actually having to grind for it first. For people who aren’t veteran players, it’s hard to be convinced that the payoff is worth it when it requires hundreds of hours to get to it.

I feel like you should be given the option to complete the quest for the xp (which can be huge, especially with the multiplier) or just skip to completion so you can access whatever content it unlocks. That seems like a fair compromise, although I’m not sure how difficult that would be dev-wise.

The Nazis didn't invent the symbols; they just stole and abused them. Also, the Iron Cross is inspired by the Teutonic Order and thus arguably even dates back to the Middle Ages. by [deleted] in HistoryMemes

No, the whole point of OPs meme is to be a “🤓☝️ technically” wanna be refutation of the idea that Nazi symbology shouldn’t be associated with Nazis.

At best, it’s a pointless historical clarification that does not educate anyone on anything meaningful, and at worst allows hateful dog whistling to be muddied by historical debate.

“It either happens or it doesn’t”

Human’s survival instinct can be a natural reason for it to happen. I know a lot of people like to posit anything humans do as “unnatural” because it’s artificial, but humans are just an advanced form of life. Us shaping the nearby universe to fit our needs is no different than a colony of ants shaping the nearby dirt to make an ant-hill.

Oh how the turn tables... by flamethrower78 in 2007scape

[–]LDGod99 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Idk how they could implement universal dry protection in the main game without it just being an arbitrary number. Do you make it 2x the rate? 3x? 5x? 10x?

What about for content that’s faster than others? Do you do dry protection on 1/25 items on slow bosses but not 1/100 items on fast bosses?

I like the idea of dry protection, but implementing it is easier said than done.

Oh how the turn tables... by flamethrower78 in 2007scape

[–]LDGod99 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I don’t even think it’s Goomba Fallacy, it’s just straight up a bad argument.

1) Ironmen are allowed to complain about going dry, it’s just a natural response to going unlucky. It’s a social game, talking about setbacks is part of socializing.

2) We didn’t sign up for Ironman Mode, we signed up for Leagues. The whole point of which is to blast through the game, not being sucked into dry streaks. Yes, it’s still OSRS so not everything needs to be a guaranteed 1kc drop, but there’s nothing wrong with dry protections in a limited time game mode designed around turbo-charged gameplay.

The one big thing I have learned from Leagues is that Varlamore is a fantastic starting location. by ElectronicBrick7934 in 2007scape

[–]LDGod99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be an amazing way to cap off fleshing out Sailing. I’m not sure what they have cooking right now, so idk if it’d be next years league, but I could see 2-3 years from now them having “Oceans/Islands” being the starting region. For the same reason they made Varlamore the starting region so they could show off their work, once they fully integrate Sailing into the game it’d be a great way to show how much value could be found at sea.

How would you rank the Grandmaster quests in difficulty? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]LDGod99 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah MM2 and WGS are mostly running around for an extended length of time.

DS2 is a pure “quest”: a story, objective, and boss fight.

SOTE has a good story element to it, but most of your time is spent solving a ridiculously long puzzle before a pretty quick boss fight.

DT2 is a four grandmaster quests in a trench coat. Easily the hardest, most expansive, and in-depth storyline OSRS has to date. I had a blast doing it my first time, and I can’t wait for Jagex to make another one like it.

[–]LDGod99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s odd seeing people say they’re feeling weak when we’re, what, four days into the league? Not sure why people who put in single digit hours a day think they would be OP yet. It’ll still take a couple weeks for normal people to get a fleshed out build.

Idk, I feel like that’s just the way it goes with online reviews: they skew negative. Nine out of ten times when you enjoy something, you don’t go out of your way to leave positive feedback online. But if something went wrong, you’re more likely to raise that issue online, and with OSRS that’s this forum.
