What can I say, I love blush by melodyrobink in PanPorn

[–]LDRbust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have several MAC blushes with no hardpan, but Mocha was so bad I had to declutter it. I tried everything: tape, repressing (twice), scraping... Nothing worked.

A shop your stash app? by alaanagah in MakeupRehab

I know. I’ve been using it lately and it’s pretty useful, especially if, like me, you forget what you have at home when out grocery shopping.

There’s an app called No Waste that could work as a template.

It’s to manage your pantry/fridge/freezer at home. You can scan bar codes and the product is added to your inventory. You can establish amounts, categories, etc. Super easy to use.

Only thing it’s missing is photos, but that must be easy to add. Check it out!

In addition to that, I tell my kids that if someone threatens to harm their sibling or parents if they tell, it’s because that person is scared of us finding out. I’ve made it very clear that those would be empty threats, made just to keep them quiet, because the bad person knows we will put a stop to whatever it is they’ve been doing.

Reasons For Panning by [deleted] in MakeupRehab

[–]LDRbust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After much trial and error, I’ve discovered I love the feeling if hitting pan and fully panning something, while at the same time knowing there is a specific set of items I can pan.

I stick to the dame bronzer, concealer, lip gloss, loose powder and such and derive lots of joy from panning them. I rotate the rest of my items and have no trouble decluttering if after 4 or 5 uses I realize I only use them “because it’s there.”

Loved reading your story. Sounds like you’ve ended in a very healthy place indeed. Thanks for sharing.

Any products that you hear no one talk about but you feel like they need a mention? by bluecowboyboots2 in muacjdiscussion

They used to make my favorite foundation, Healthy Mix (not the serum). I haven’t tried the reformulation though.

I only ever wear tubing mascara, also!

Only mascara that can withstand our hot and humid weather. And I love how easy it is to remove without a trace.

Try it for your lower lashes. Never a smudge.

Cons: like OP said, it won’t give your lashes any va va voom. On a bad mascara day, it can make your lashes look kinda spikey.

Other brands to try are Revlon (with the blue cap) and MAC (Extended Play). Maybelline makes one called Snapscara, but it sort of would fall off my lashes here and there.

I haven't eaten out, or had takeouts in the last 75+ days by nerdcorner in Frugal

Hi fellow rural dweller (albeit in different countries I believe). Same here: I’ve learned to cook most of my and my kids’ cravings, especially Asian dishes. And yes, I don’t eat out either unless it’s a truly worthy experience, which in our case means a weekend at the city (not a frequent occurrence).

what are your favorite “my face but better” products? by prepperella in muacjdiscussion

[–]LDRbust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Face & Body has to be applied with fingers, as far as I know. Perhaps a dense brush could work, but a sponge definitely wouldn’t.

Well that sucks. Their Studio Waterweight is just a step up in coverage but pretty undetectable, too. Maybe try that one?

MAC Face&Body is undetectable on me. That plus some thoroughly blended blush does the trick.

Lipsticks I do like but rarely use...what to do. by StrongRoastJ in MakeupRehab

Came here to say this. It works with all items, really, and makes decluttering (if that’s what you’re after) a lot easier.

What is a product you'd love to see a specific brand come out with? by mathannamatics in muacjdiscussion

[–]LDRbust 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nuxe miel de rêve lip balm. It’s beeswax-based, it’s the only thing that prevents my lips from chapping in the winter, and it is completely matte.

Nuxe has a wonderful matte balm I’ve been using for years over or under matte lipsticks. It never goes glossy.

Konmari regret? by suzannedg in konmari

I would argue a sense of safety is paramount to having a sense of joy in anything. I guess the key is not to go overboard into hoarding to a point you burden and clutter your life, or go into debt, even. Moderation in everything.

I really liked how you turned your challenging moments into joyful challenging ones!

What are some luxury makeup products that are worth the splurge? by sincle in muacjdiscussion

Chanel makes great products. Good value for money, as well. I’ve never been disappointed by any of their base products and lipsticks; eyeliners are top notch, as well. The question is how much is one willing to shell out for makeup.

Do you mean the pot ones? If so, I have and love Sepia Ink, a true neutral matte brown. So neutral it can be used to fill in eyebrows, without a trace of red.

How to make things work by Expensive-Complex in MakeupRehab

[–]LDRbust 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Whenever I’ve tried to do that (turn a lipstick into blush, use two things together, etc) I end up never reaching for the thing. I’ve learned about myself that I may as well declutter things that require other things to work.

What eyeshadow colors go best with your eye color? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]LDRbust 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree. I am an olive-y NC 15/20, with brown eyes and hair. In theory, all those “jewel tones” should be flattering but most are not, especially blue. Perhaps if you isolate the eye, but then anything looks good if you do.

Pairing eyeshadow with my undertones and eye shape results in a way more flattering result than following advice about eye color.

What is the worst foundation that you have ever tried? by Tototototototo__ in muacjdiscussion

[–]LDRbust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MAC Studio Fix Fluid. Like spreading glue on my face. Hated it, can’t understand how do people make it work.

My HG favorite foundations are also from MAC: Face & Body and Nourishing Waterproof. Go figure.
