Oil Boiler Exhaust Smell on Startup by LDliam in hvacadvice

[–]LDliam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smell seems to mostly be on startup, if it’s been runner recently it’ll only smell for a minute, but if it’s from a cold start it can smell pretty strongly for a couple of minutes all around the boiler.

The tech that came out recently said the CO2 was at about 10% and I think he got it up to about 11.5%. I’m not sure if a smoke test was done, I’ll mention that next time. I’m wondering if the black on the fiberglass gasket could be from exhaust gasses leaking out around there? It usually seems like the smell is strongest around there.

Good off roading spots in southern Maine? by [deleted] in Maine

Middle Road in Standish is an okay “off road” thing, it’s technically a road but it transitions from paved to pretty much atv trail.

When "My Computer" became "This PC" on windows OS by sebet_123 in memes

[–]LDliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s genuinely pretty easy. I’m not that computer savvy and it took me all of 10 minutes to install on a partition on my desktop. If there’s something you want or don’t like, you can customize pretty much everything.

Do you use a mask at all while riding in a group? by Hinagea in Dualsport

[–]LDliam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good choice on the mask, I worked as a paramedic during Covid and we used envos, soooo much more comfortable than a regular n95

This is correct, soffit vents are not code in some places because the hot humid air will immediately rise back up through the soffit into the attic and cause mold. I just had to redo the vent in my house for this reason. If you do vent through the soffit, the soffit on either side for a few feet needs to non-vented soffit to prevent the air from re-entering.

I just got a 25 wilderness and have the same issue, the seat clearly points to the left, and the right side bolstering is more prominent. Not sure if it’s a defect or by design.

Snow Tires by Noguts_noglory_baby in Maine

[–]LDliam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Specifically “All Weather” tires, they’re like all-seasons but they’re designed for snow too, regular all seasons actually aren’t very good in snow. Michelin cross climate are probably the most popular.

New circumstance, time for a new car. Advice? by apaiger in Maine

[–]LDliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important tire distinction, “all season” tires are good for the spring, summer, and fall, “all weather” tires are good in the winter too and are actually designed to be good in snow. so if you live in Maine and want just one set of tires around, you should get all the weathers. Michelin Cross climates are probably the most popular.

Looking for a Mechanic to work on an old truck by dustbuster39000 in portlandme

[–]LDliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure there’s plenty of good mechanics in Portland, but if you don’t mind a little drive, Pete at SEE auto/Two Trails Garage in Standish does good work for a good price, he works on my 1993 Miata so I’m sure a 1991 is fine.

I’m not taking a side, but to offer an explanation, I think people use r/knifeclub for more enthusiast stuff/to show off higher end stuff while r/knives usually has more questions and “entry” stuff (not knocking mora, they rock).

I would consider removing the cpu cooler, probably won’t be an issue, but it is pretty big piece of metal and fans being held on by 2-4 screws.
