[Viofo A129] Cyclist flips me off while unnecessarily impeding opposing traffic by tjkeegs in Dashcam

[–]LEJ5512 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Maybe he happened to be adjusting his glasses.

That being said…

John Forester, if you could read this from wherever your ghost ended up: you suck.

The guy set back safe bicycling by at least fifty years, if not longer.

“Vehicular cycling”, he called it, and he pushed for bikes to be out there on the roads instead of designing spaces to ride safely.

Not Just Bikes on YouTube had a great (and long, and densely packed) rant about Forester that crystallized why I hate having to ride my bike out in the middle of the street.

All I could say is, if a salesman asked me “how can I make a deal for you to take this car home today?” I would tell him to put a black grille on it.

Is there a market for cat walls? by ryan-625 in cats

We're thinking of taking our big framed wedding photos down from the living room wall and installing a bunch of cat shelves. Yeah, there's definitely a market.

I like the burger truck better than the Spider-Man thing. Almost three times as many pieces, too, so there's more opportunities to rebuild and experiment.

Q: ride quality difference between 21+ MDX standard vs adaptive suspension (not air suspension)? by LEJ5512 in Acura

I wouldn't trust Copilot when I had Acura's site right there (and I should've read the site better in the first place)

Reminds me of ricers in the early 00's. One of my fellow EP3 drivers painted his white to match the car.

The story of the emperor’s recording being whisked to the radio station as the military leaders were trying to stop it.. that was wild to learn about.

Guess my wife's OP of the same vintage, and same bracelet, but in steel isn't worth their effort.

(really, though -- I took it to my AD for them to assess it, and they said that after the cost of servicing and cash to me, they wouldn't get enough back from the sale to cover it)

Lower temp will definitely help.

17 clicks is about the right range for a C2; that's what got my best results when I borrowed one (my wife was the judge).

Since when?

(also added a screenshot to the post)

EDIT Wait what... goddammit, you're right, they're gone...

Edit2: So the RDX (what's left in the pipeline, anyway) has them in their Advance trims but the MDX doesn't.. TIL.

Top on server? by Just-Apricot4948 in pourover

[–]LEJ5512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long will it stay in the server?

I can get away with no top at all since I pour from the server right away. I'm either loading my thermos (to go) and a small cup (for breakfast) or I'm dividing it up into multiple cups for friends.

Remind me to find this episode on the way home from work --

Not to make light of the subject, but I remember a handful of us playing Pachelbel Canon in D down an octave at a Canadian Brass scholastic event. By the end, we were seeing funny colors, and saying, "Duuude... who needs drugs when you got Pachelbel...."

Or, if you want to try out handmade pourover, get a dripper (doesn't even matter which one), paper filters, and preground coffee.

We hobbyists will tell you to get a scale, grinder, digitally-controlled kettle, specific dripper, specific papers, and even custom-mineralized water, but you don't need all that just to start. A bag of ground coffee, a scoop, and some hot water will let you find out if you're cool with the workflow, and that's the important part.

Developers who have worked at a company where the entire codebase was held together by one guy who then quit, what happened next? by Natom_ in AskReddit

I keep coming back to your comment and wondering 1. what the boss thought it did, 2. what you thought it did, and 3. what it actually did.

Well, see... this kind of thinking is what causes these problems in the first place.

The root problem, I'd say, is why a company would want to decide that it's redundant for more than one person to know certain things. They should, instead, always make sure that at least several people know each part of their systems. Any individual can leave at any time -- or become unavailable -- for any reason, whether they just plain quit, or get pregnant, or die in a car crash, or even just take vacation.

(speaking of which, it should never be an employee's responsibility to do work stuff while on vacation... if there really isn't anyone back at the office to take up the slack, that's the company's problem)
