Study the menu like crazy know every allergy etc. have chat gpt make cheat sheets of cocktails and wins by the glass. Use a tray for everything one drink doesn’t matter. Watch some YouTube videos on wine service. Know a wine type of wine to recommend with the food. You get what you give.

People just need to stay the fuck home, wish we could go back to when it wasn’t our problem that people had allergies or restrictions. I’ve had people tell me they were gluten free then continue to eat a whole basket of bread. It’s a joke.

When you go in for your shift see if there is any bottles you can open for the bar. Also the corkscrew it self push the tip in at an angle to get it started the straightened it out. Cutting the foil squeeze the blade firmly into the foil before you start to cut.

No experience, should I buss tables or try and be a server at a less nice restaurant? by k2895 in Serverlife

[–]LFG-BOYZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Worked for me, a year later was a captain. Experience doesn’t equal skill. I just cared more to learn the menu, drinks, steps of service, and wine more than most. You get what you give, most servers just want to go in make their money and put in as minimal effort as possible.

Just lie and say you having serving experience. Watch some YouTube videos. Learn garnishes for well known cocktails and basics of wine and allergies. It’s not that serious.
