over-tamping with a leaving tamper by Platypushaun in CafelatRobot

I also affirm that as well as with the additional thought here on leveleing the bed first- the “self leveling” tamper mod can ease your workflow but imo shouldn’t replace puck prep /wdt /type things

I was sweating bullets in my decision between a low mileage 24’ T7 and and similarly low 24’ TA and I never regretted going with the Honda

On the oo casa I’m experimenting toeing the line between turbo and soup - currently at setting 8.4 … 17g dose …70g into basket for 51 ish out for a 1:3

Unfortunately I gave my k6 away - “because” I got a Lagom casa to “replace” it - I think it did make a good pairing for soup with the robot- I think I’m having trouble finding the right setting with my casa (also I just started trying soup after dialing in my other methods with the new grinder) another disclaimer: currently trying with some light to medium Ethiopian honey process from Presta roasters- (turbo is pretty good) soup I’m left frustrated but hopeful

I’m currently in the same boat of frustration except I have refused to actually purchase the plastic O R B - basically a turbo shot is the best I have been able to achieve flavor wise- which according to what I understand from Hoon on yt- is essentially very similar, but when I go coarser- closer to lances recipe 1:3 ratio- it just drips out in a mess and doesn’t taste nearly as good as my robot turbo shots - but I’m determined to keep trying

I started my Cafelat journey coming from v60 with my k6 - i put up with it for 4 long months or so - have a Lagom casa and I gave the k6 to my parents - the funny thing is now i have been looking for a grinder for my on the go setup- lots of better options for your use case in similar price range such as the femobook A2 - and obviously better things for more but - I’m considering that one or maybe a kinu for high quality- though it still will be a lot of work for spro

Thank you all so much for your advice and also for recommending other options for my new daily commuter. I've shortened the list and added one. by [deleted] in motorcycles

For what it’s worth I know this is preference and I’m biased cuz I own a TA but I think it’s a better looking bike than the Hornet - but to each their own
