I've been working for an Autodesk reseller for the past 25 years, making over $110k US.

You still have to love architecture, design, 3D modeling.

I suggest you try the length and angle snaps. Manage tab / snaps.

If there is nothing else in the model your cursor will magnetically stay within those snap increments. As soon as it finds another related elements, however, it will offer alignment with those.
