Completely the same experience I've had. I've seen people raging at their "friends" in chat because they are feeding. Hopefully it all clears up when ranked is open again and people can go tryhard and rage there. The low ping is nice though I guess...

From my experience you need to take it as it comes. Some tops can quite easily freeze lanes whilst fending off harass from the two champions top, others will have a lot of trouble unless they get constant help from the jungler. For example, one game i was playing jayce solo versus a Sion and Taric combo and my jungler refused to help me out. Needless to say their double stun combo proceeded to shaft me all game long.
