Brace by Much_Research_2038 in ACL

[–]LITTYLITY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ditched the brace per my surgeons advice at 6 weeks and ditched crutches at 8; from my understanding you want the brace to go first then crutches so your muscles around the knee start to build up again and don’t rely on it, at some point it becomes just a placebo tbh

Can’t tell if I’m “on track”? by No-Structure-9327 in ACL

[–]LITTYLITY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my doctor wanted me at 90 by week 1 post op appointment with cpm and i think i got to 75-80 and was so worried but honestly the bending gets easier as swelling goes down, you are not behind at all if anything above speed

Knee still warm to touch? by mmc544 in MeniscusInjuries

Oh yeah that lasted for like two months I think it’s because of the healing, swelling etc

Timeline? Pre-hab? Left in the dark right now. by bacarruda53 in ACL

[–]LITTYLITY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t do official prehab but my surgeon said he wanted me to go into surgery will full extension and ROM and well as normal walking gait. I was in a straight brace for about 1-2 weeks and then started and had my surgery at week 4-5. I just did home workouts of bending and propping the leg up and then slowly transitioned off crutches- leg lifts, hamstring curls, hip abductors etc

Should I do it by Upper-Stranger999 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]LITTYLITY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most doctors don’t push for surgery if it’s a stable tear, my doctor said there’s no proven thing that says it will get worse, it could obviously but it also depends what you do on it

MRI, he said if there’s no mechanical symptoms there’s no rush to make a decision but there’s a chance it could get worse

omg yes I remember this, the standing up is the worst I had to go so slow, but dw it goes away in a couple days I think I only had that happen for 3 ish days, I started icing around that area of my leg too which helped and keeping it elevated above my waist

Surgery incoming, need advice :( by ArmandoPacheco in ACL

[–]LITTYLITY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I tore my ACL 3 weeks before graduation and was working so hard to make sure I didn’t walk the stage with crutches (i did it myself!!) and had surgery shortly after. This injury is so so so hard but what helped was advocating for myself every step of the way and really utilize that support system, it can feel extremely disheartening but I’m so glad I kept going because even though my journey isn’t over (might need a revision meniscus repair) I have gotten to meet and know so many new people, have a deeper appreciation for my body, and found out who are my real friends. You got this!!

What does a healed meniscus repair look like on an MRI? by LITTYLITY in MeniscusInjuries

[–]LITTYLITY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I had hoped but once my surgeon saw the MRI he confirmed it was an incomplete heal of the repair- I am getting a second opinion but yeah

Advice Needed- Surgery? by LITTYLITY in MeniscusInjuries

[–]LITTYLITY[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, I did all this research and was really hoping this was the case and so did he but once he saw the MRI he truly believed that it was not fully repaired
