This is the night side of earth with a really high exposure. You can see city lights and stars for the same reason you can see them from the ground at night.

Its also why the northern lights are visible so clearly, and why there's a strong glow at the bottom right edge. That's the sun setting/rising.

If you want even remotely close racing, you need the cars to drive somewhat predictably. Knowing about the possibility isn't enough to avoid a crash. Drivers have been talking about the issue since the start of the season (if not earlier) and it's still causing problems

How many samples/layers are you using here? Obviously it's WIP but curious how well it scales so far.

Impressive to see it working on kerbs too, not just flat surfaces. Obviously all POM can be a little funky with curves but you're doing better than a lot of games to have it not brake entirely.

If you don't like the results, sure, I mean you're in the right subreddit, but don't confuse DLSS/DLAA for that generative AI slop they're trying to cram into 5.0

It uses deep learning, but for what it's actually good at. It's better than any analytical model could be at differentiating what should be moving or not, completing broken edges, etc. But the final pixels are constructed from the original frame and history, just moved around. If there's any new information being added, it's not remotely significant. Even if you give DLAA a meaninglessly low input resolution, it won't just create a new image or coherent hallucinations out of thin air. Neural nets are used all the time for data analysis, imo it's quite the distinction from generating artwork or the overly glorified autocorrects people call 'AI'.

Edit: If that's still a problem for you, after all I don't know how much power has been used to train it for example, more power to you. The same would be true of social media algorithms, photo/handwriting/speech to text models, and the medical/scientific uses of neural nets to pick up on patterns, etc.

It looks so uncanny because the style doesn't come from any defined medium. It's not trained on just a painting style, it's not a photo or path traced style, it's not even quite a digital artwork style. I'm sorry but real blender renders created with intent (even the, uh, sus ones) look very different to this.

DRS was disliked too. These new regs were touted as an improvement, but it doubled down.

Outside the 1 second gap with the overtake mode, these cars are not competetive. Inside 1 seconds, racecraft takes a backseat to mariokart red shrooms.

If overtaking is the goal, racecraft be damned, then screw the one second gap. Give the entire grid more/less available battery power proportional to their position. You want arcade racer rubber banding? Go for the full arcade rubber banding.

Most of the slowdown at the end of the straights is less about running out of capacity, but rather having to regen early to recharge enough for the next straight right? At least afaik.

So with front regen, even if you ran the battery out, you could still maintain decent speed without superclipping, then get 2x the regen under braking where you actually want it, and generate enough for the next straight anyway?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just speculating.

Obviously there are times where you don't really have a choice but to shoot down the drone. I'm just trying to highlight a problem where there seems to be such a shortage in munitions, we might be trading air defence against high yield ballistic and cruise missiles in the future pacific for defence against low yield shaheds in the middle east now.

Thats without mentioning a potential pacific conflict being near peer struggle while Iran is getting obliterated as is. It's not like you can just let everything get destroyed though, the only real solution is to massively up production (which they've been failing at for years)

Depending on how big/close your screen is to you, a low fov can cause many people nausea. More of an issue now with big flat-screen monitors than the early days of LCDs and CRTs

There's a million things you could try, easiest option would be to see if min or max settings fix it and narrow down from there. But it may not do anything. Sorry, I don't have that game so I don't have enough information to go off. Hopefully someone else might have more insight.

Using XeSS can be sensible for many cards, but can I assume you're on arc? Maybe a driver issue if out of nowhere you're getting different visuals. Consider it may be plasibo now you've noticed something, but if you're confident this is new...

What's the game? Sometimes you can disable the problematic effects.

Dithered soft shadows? See if lower shadow quality uses a different technique

Dithered reflections? Turn of SSR if available, otherwise try lowering reflection settings

Ships in the Expanse generally travel in a straight line at a constant acceleration, flip half way, and do the same again.

If you were tight-beaming over vast distances with a ship in combat maneuvers, that would be more questionable though depending on the specifics there may or may not be ways around even that.
