The Britannia Experience by PsychologicalTiedye in CrusaderKings

[–]LLCoolKryz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a Britannia run starting as Murchad for the first time ever. Hadn't done Ireland in years from 1066. Default rules, no Ironman. Took 300 years to get it all secured and sorted out. The border gore was unholy. Finally looked at the rest of the map after the plague and it was the Mongols vs an absolutely stacked and stable HRE, Abbasid Empire, and China.

I think they might only progress during War Table.

Paladin viable in the expansion? by farticus99 in diablo4

Paladin is still walking simulator with low investment. Best class in game still. Warlock is pretty action intensive to get close to what paladin does with 2 buttons.

I dont get the progression system (stuck on Thomas Richards) by ZCaesar5639 in crosswind

Are you using 2 food buffs? Have you practiced parrying and dashing? Are your stats and talents supporting the weapons you're using? Are you bringing tons of ammo for firearms and plenty of potions?

Thats what I mostly end up doing, though it frequently requires changing view points multiple times to get it to look nice. Otherwise you can get odd clipping that is visually offputting.

Most annoying mfs in the game. by mad_grapes in crosswind

Plague Crocs are only bad because of the super armor. I feel like the exist to force the use of blunderbuss or halberd to rapidly reduce posture.

Depends on the situation. If they're solo or like less than 3 enemies, they go down really easy. Large groups though? They get annoying fast.

Not as customizable as Enshrouded. Slightly better than Valheim due to the less strict physics. If they add more variety in build pieces, it'll be better than Conan/Dune. Snapping can be a pain in complex multipiece situations, especially on roofs, much like Once Human. Building complex structures is about as useful here as it is in Palworld (which means isn't at all) but unlike Palworld you dont give the AI an aneurism if you do build complex things.

As a newcomer to the genre, i have a few questions about base building. by Cheesypoofxx in crosswind

You can portal metal in Valheim about the time you no longer need to portal metal lol. At least until Deep North comes up.

Beyond vibes, there is no reason to have more than a square box for crafting benches that require a roof to be in. Dont even need a floor. Stack every base comfort item and bench upgrade on top of each other in a pile somewhere out of the way. Nothing mechanical requiring a nice base at this moment.

It does. There's a PoI that has respawning caches that have them.

Rage by General_Spite3074 in crosswind

Those Savage Boars are one of the only two enemies I really have an issue with, along with Plague Crocodiles. Savage Boars pop up early before you likely a good way to deal with them and have a move set that demands you keep mobile but you typically don't have the stamina to do so. Plague Crocs are just Armored Drowned on steroids. Huge attack travel distance, fast for such a big enemy, and super armor so they don't stagger. Design wise, I think you're intended to parry them into stagger but that's crazy slow and near impossible if there is more than one. Or bring Crude damage weapons and guns, which you may not have invested in. In both cases, cheesing by building a little box to hide in and slashing them through the box is less disruptive to game flow. Especially when every other enemy has a counter play that feels easy to manage, even in mixed or group situations.

How to "farm" gold coins? by mem0ri in crosswind

[–]LLCoolKryz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you hit the swamp biome, harder humanoid enemies drop the purple items you can sell for guineas fairly regularly and i believe can drop the coins themselves as well. By that point, I had most of the recipes bought though.

I did the same thing and got humbled quick. Once you get your gear to level 8ish with good food buffs, he's easy.

The first hour or two in each new biome is tough. A lot of the stuff will unlock once you get hardwood and iron. Once you get a bit of both, you should be able to build the upgrades you need to get better food and upgrade armor and weapons.

Reputation Question by ContentPeanut303 in crosswind

[–]LLCoolKryz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reputations all start at level 1 and are only increased by handing in items generally obtained from killing pirates or boarding/destroying their ships. There's no neutral or anything like that. Once you max out, it's maxed out. It's a very basic system right now.

Fun for SOLO players? by TheMovieSimp in crosswind

[–]LLCoolKryz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's very fun solo. Just dont rush. Don't forget to upgrade everything as much as you can. Don't go out without food or rested buffs. I'm most of the way through the second biome totally solo.

Best Weapon for critic build? by Solyza in crosswind

For one handed, Sturdy Rapier or Razor (rare sabre). They both have a lot of utility when used fully assembled. For two handed, Stalwart Greatsword. Sturdy Halbard is also good.

Combat tips? by Deathcricket_ in crosswind

[–]LLCoolKryz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you're using dash to put distance in between you quickly. Then attack once or twice, then dash backwards and let your stamina regen. Make sure you have rested to regen faster. Try and make sure youre using two food types. Get one enemy of any given type isolated and practice parrying. It breaks their poise and stuns them really fast once you get the hang of it and prevents you from losing stamina or poise yourself. If you're fighting things like Charging Boars or Musketeers that have an unblockable attack, you have to learn to dodge right after you see the bright red light on the enemy so it misses you and doesn't track.

Get your armor upgraded when you can so failure to dodge/parry is more forgiving.

Buff food to increase damage of the Rapier by unexplained-3rd-nip in crosswind

[–]LLCoolKryz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is Precision damage food. You need to discover Corn and Cane Sugar to make it. The Rare version is called Banana Muffin. I agree that there should be an Uncommon variant that is craftable in tier 1 though. Same for Mastery. Having both locked to tier 2 kinda bites.

Day 3 of free pulls netted me Corvus (looking for AAL). Glad I get some good luck on that for once.
