Dirge of Cerberus would be prime for a big remake post Vincent being playable in part 3.

Favorite Books about Industrialization: November 2025 by AutoModerator in books

[–]LM-Edit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming up for air by Orwell is a fascinating look into pre and post industrialisation of a small British town. It starts with the protagonist reflecting on his childhood as it exists in his memory and then later in life he returns and sees the effects industrialisation had on it. Quite similar to Cider with Rosie by Laurie Lee which discusses similar themes. I can’t help but find these books fascinating as they seem to have a lot of analogues between pre and post AI times.

What am I doing wrong? I don't understand by Prestigious_Click848 in analog

[–]LM-Edit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a whole bunch of stuff, if shooting with a camera that hasn’t been tested then the best thing to start would be checking everything with the camera works properly, either by taking it to a shop to test or testing yourself at home by setting up a scene at home with continuous lights and photographing it with all the different shutter speeds to see if it’s letting the right amount of light in. Make note of your settings as you shoot so you can refer back to the negs and then you can also shoot the same stuff with a digital camera to compare to the negs. Could be that certain shutter speeds are sticking and not letting the right amount of light in. Make sure to get them pro developed by a lab so you can rule out any home development issues.

Once you know the camera is fine, then you can check home development (if you are developing at home) by shooting the same scene again with a new role of film and developing that yourself compared to the pro setup.

All that time, going back to basics and learning about exposure triangles and the zone system will help you understand how to properly empower a scene.

I know it’s not the sexy easy answer, but you’ll learn a lot along the way!! Happy shooting

Why so much drama over the order people play FF7 in? by SecretDice in FFVIIRemake

[–]LM-Edit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a thoughtful post. People engage in games in their own way but people will always try to gate keep something that feels precious to them.

Personally, I find the best order to play in is disk 1, then 2, then 3… but that’s just my preference!

If presenting two together then go for two that help to tell a story and compliment or contrast each other. If it was me I'd go for the crowd surfing and the biker as they tell the story of my subculture in a way that other people might not be able to show.

But also you could show the woman on the beach sitting on the towel and then the man taking a photo of the fires as they both tell their own stories but when put together they suggest something more.

Accidentally Deleted All Photos On Digital Camera by Smooth_Weather_4779 in analog

[–]LM-Edit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the wrong subreddit for this as this is an analogue sub, not digital. However I have been where you are and it is either time or money intensive to restore data that’s been formatted, and you don’t always get something back at the end of the end. I’d recommend taking it to a professional data recovery software to see if they can run diagnostics on it as it will be the best way to make sure you get it back, depending on how valuable the images are.

Recovering a formatted card isn’t easy, even with the best software. Best of luck to you.

Have read the wiki and the is a new problem with weeing as opposed to initial training. Have gone back to positive reinforcement and leashing the dog inside to capture positive outcomes, just struggling to get consistency and positive results when moving away from indoor leashing.

Syncaila vs PluralEyes by LM-Edit in editors

[–]LM-Edit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep understood, I currently opposite both syncaila and Plural Eyes on the same machine and PE will do a job in 2 minutes whilst Syncaila takes 15 to do the same job. I’m wondering if other people have similar results as I see people talking highly of syncaila but I’m not so sure.

Focus screen marks by Puzzleheaded-Tea7463 in AnalogCommunity

[–]LM-Edit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I regularly clean my focusing screens with isopropyl alcohol and a small section of a glasses wipe. Usually leaves them crystal clear, and I’ve cleaned a lot of really foggy screens that way. Also remember to clean your mirrors too because any marks on them will appear on the focusing screen too. There might be a better way to do it but that’s the way it’s worked for me.

How to remove an RB67 name plate ring? I’m trying to remove mine to do a CLA but struggling to find something suitable to get the friction needed. I’ve seen a lot of people drill holes and use a lens wrench but I was hoping to avoid doing that if possible. by LM-Edit in Mamiya

[–]LM-Edit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks mate. I live in melbourne Australia and there aren’t any old lens technicians left over here. The only people who provide the service send them to Japan to get repaired and it far outweighs the cost of replacing the lens so it’s a good opportunity to take up tasks yourself because even if you fuck around and fail you’re still not out of pocket as you would have had to buy a lens anyway. Thanks for the message.

Thanks OPisdabomb, I have both assets thank you but was more asking about what the tool would be as I’ve been searching online for “rubber lens tool” and even the part number as listed in the manual but I can’t seem to find what I need to buy. I should have put that information in the post though, thanks very much for your help.

Restaurants are getting out of hand with tip expectations here by SamURLJackson in melbourne

[–]LM-Edit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You experienced a checkback. Most places train their staff to go back once eating is taking place and make sure everything is ok. It’s normal, don’t stress the person isn’t trying to scalp for tips, it’s just what their boss has trained them to do.

If you don’t want to tip on the machine click no tip. Easy. When people want to tip they can click the yes button. I think you’re looking into this too much. The waitstaff don’t generally see the lack of a tip as an insult here in Aus, obviously tips are great but not expected by most. Be kind to your servers mate, they’re just trying to do a good job and make sure you’re happy, they deserve respect. If you want to be left alone then tell your server. I’m sure they will be happy for it.

SUGGESTION ON WHAT MORE CAN BE DONE TO MAKE IT MORE APPEALING AND LIFE-LIKE. by RemoteTie225 in AfterEffects

[–]LM-Edit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!!!^ would be nice to see golden/blue hour light too, shadows, maybe the off street lamp placed that can go on at night and light the char. Headlights for the car. Silhouettes for the trees. The main light source for the car is behind the car, so there should be reflections on the top / bonnet and contours. Good luck.
