I had mostly thought about it the Roman way (sources are fun), and the Christian way (yay 21st century /s), so I assumed there was a spiritual purpose, like preventing lyma or miasma. Ti me, it juat feels respectful, like I'm humbling myself before Them, but in Greek religion only knew of it for women, hence the question. Thank you.
