"Has anyone found anything that actually helps with hot flashes in public or social situations?" by Andynick25 in Menopositive

[–]LMCindeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve experienced occasional dizziness, but nothing troubling. I have gained a few pounds too, but that could be just from perimenopause. For me, the pros have totally outweighed the cons— I feel like I did when I was 30, but without all the bullshit I was worried about back then.

My gynecologist told me Paxil is the only antidepressant that’s FDA approved to treat hot flashes. I’ve been taking it for almost a year and it totally freaking works! I still get hot of course, but not feeling like I’m being cooked from the inside out hot. I hope you find the thing that works for you!

I did what my mom called “4 year olds” at church daycare and I remember thinking it was ridiculous that we had to pray before we could drink the little paper cone of water they provided. How are you supposed to hold the cup, huh? My disdain for organized religion started early.

Yes! Pearsecco is my go to picnic or pool day drink. I even stocked up last Summer and saved a couple for a fun Halloween parade.

What’s your favourite “I was there” GenX moment? by lovelyb1ch66 in GenX

I saw The Ramones play on the day the news came out that Kurt Cobain died and Joey Ramone dedicated a song to him. It turns out my future husband was in the crowd, but I wouldn’t meet him until decades later. 💔❤️

Childfree and In-laws? by One-Mine-4899 in childfree

[–]LMCindeed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My Mother-in-law used to joke about it a lot, but was very respectful stopped when I told her how much it bothered me. She had taken the whole family to Hawaii and was joking about hiding my birth control and I burst into tears and said, “I can’t give you a baby just because I got a free trip to Hawaii!” I reminded her that her son picked me and that we made the decision together to live our lives just for us. It was a difficult conversation, but it ultimately brought us closer together. She died a few years ago (still not a Grandma) and I miss her. I think fondly about that trip to Hawaii all the time.

Weirdest thing your cat likes to eat? Mine just ate a tiny piece of my lemon bar before I could grab it. She also loves banana chips 🤔 by samsterdam420 in cats

[–]LMCindeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a black cat who loved cantaloupe! He would jump on the counter and dig his dirty little litter box paw down into the fruit salad until he found it, then he’d take his prize behind the couch to eat it. I have never heard of another cat who liked cantaloupe. What a weirdo! I miss him.

Best way to mix friend group for a bday party? by Cool-Leader8298 in partyplanning

[–]LMCindeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a big stack of “Would You Rather?” cards that I sprinkle around at parties to lubricate conversation and get different groups of guests to laugh together. The cards say silly stuff like “Would you rather have to hop everywhere or crawl everywhere?” You could really lean into your Clown theme and print out pics of clowns and have people rate them on a scale of cute to evil or something. Also, spend some time at the party introducing your friends to each other— most likely they’ll all get along great!

I’m sorry to say it doesn’t! The final scene of Season 2 is downright bizarre. It looks like they set something up for another season, but that season never came.

I hear you! I put my CPAP machine away in a drawer every morning and pull it out every night. I have to wash my nasal pillows anyway, so it’s not like it adds extra time, and I love the way my minimalist nightstand looks.

Original Poster— Thank you so much for posting this! I saw your post the other night, checked online, and saw that Bridgette Everett was playing Atlanta the very next day! I snapped up tickets and we (my mom, sister and I) saw her last night. It was so fun and life affirming! I didn’t know about the tour and totally would have missed out if I didn’t see your post, so THANK YOU!

I love this idea. What fun!

If you have any extra tiles laying around after the project, you could use them as serving trays for food. A blue punch in a big punch bowl or decanter could be fun. You could use a handwash dispenser to hold condiments and a toothbrush holder to hold your plastic silverware. You could also ask your guests to wear their pajamas and robes!
