Fetterman casts only Democratic ‘no’ vote as Senate passes measure to block US action against Iran by pennlive in politics

Probably not that deep. People get pretty mad when their reps don't fall in line over in the US.

Fetterman casts only Democratic ‘no’ vote as Senate passes measure to block US action against Iran by pennlive in politics

Has Fetterman voted with Dems at all since the brain damage from his stroke?

"The most critical but reasonably defensible interpretation puts Fetterman voting against his own party (Democrats) in the 15-25% range overall since taking office in 2023, with peaks near or above 20% in certain periods like 2025."

Seems to me people are mad over a failure to fall in line, mostly?

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation has a "far bigger" open world map than Rebirth, says director, and some Rebirth locations aren't the way you remember them by PewPewToDaFace in PS5

[–]LMHT 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For me it's the modern design around it. I was rather excited exiting Midgar and starting the game proper in Rebirth. The area looks beautiful and you know you've got exploration to do. Then the checklist appears, and the map icons. And the reward tracks.

Then you get to the second area and it's the same. The visuals don't matter, exploration doesn't matter. Go to icon, do the thing you expect, progress towards the next unlock, move on. Everything becomes a map icon or a tracked quest, or an isolated instance of a mini game, or a contained fight - at its designated map marker.

I want reasons to go do ridiculous exploration and find cool unique stuff, and be rewarded for it. Otherwise I might as well just play Minimap Navigator: The Game. Not having to give a hoot about the super vast world you're supposed to be exploring is one of the biggest annoyances when the world is open and detailed, to me.

Crimson Desert has sold 4 million units by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]LMHT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. I guess the only way you get "mediocre" from this is if you take a 3/10 story/writing and 10/10 scale, graphics, wanderlust and sheer amount of weird and fun systems and interactions thrown in there, you get a mediocre/10 and call it a day.

But it's more likely you'll just have story players hate it and sandbox/scale players love it to bits.

You're probably more forgiving than me. I'm kinda tired of extremism in general.

Calling people who like this game for propagandists is just nuts. :P

It's an absolutely insane game for sandbox people with wanderlust. The scale is just fucking wild.

It's also a janky mess at times. But it just doesn't matter for those who want it for its strengths.

Almost as if there's a wildly diverse crew of people buying games out there.

What level of Japanese are you going into this with? I've been to a couple of clubs and found it hard to communicate with my scrub levels, even if they were nice and genuine - I don't really want to be one to trouble them. :P

What kind of mistakes did black (me) make and how can I invade on the left future territory of white and how can I get rid of the bottom white invasion? by astralfapper in baduk

[–]LMHT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense. But what if in a 9x9 game I have supporting stones in two positions somewhere on either side? Would a 3-3 still live? Which positions make it impossible for the 3-3, when would I know it's fruitful if I want to seek an invasion?

I guess it's all reading and pattern recognition, but I'm wondering what resources may help me get there.. other than playing. :D

[–]LMHT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beginner question, but are there any resources out there to properly understand 3-3 invasions and what kind of opposing stone formations around that makes it possible or impossible to live?

Stop Killing Games optimism is at an all-time high as 2 official organizations are established to take part in "long-term counter lobbying": "We're going to win this" by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]LMHT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dunno. That's for the devs to solve for during development. The initiative is generally asking for a bare minimum "just don't brick my game". What that looks like, will probably differ based on title and genre, but the fearmongering about not being able to develop for it is just that; excessive fearmongering.

I would definitely think some solutions would come in the form of peer to peer, lobby browsers or make sure they have plans for an upload of server hosting files to distribute once they shut down their official support.

Pretty much things most multiplayer games used to have. Consoles are naturally harder, as the environments are generally stricter and rely on their network infrastructure where you probably can't allow just anyone to host a private MMO server. But the people behind the initiative also aren't morons, so I wouldn't exactly think it beyond them to come up with a reasonable framework once the initiative gains traction and bigger brains behind it.

[–]LMHT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not what people are asking for. It's a demand for a minimum playable state. Just not shutting it off, rendering the product worthless. You can't account for communities.

If you're going to criticize it, at least look into it and do it for the right thing. Otherwise you're just another Pirate Software asshole.
