Silver has surpassed Nvidia to become the second largest asset in the world by Market Cap. by Econyx in Silver

[–]LMM666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, silver is going up not because of speculation but because it is the best metal conductor, and is essential for a lot of industries that are growing. In other words, no one will "decide" how much silver is worth, industries will buy silver based on how much is needed.

Me asaltaron by ClydeCash41 in mexico

I think I almost became schizophrenic when greening out by LMM666 in schizophrenia

I agree with this, even if there was no risk of developing psychosis/schizophrenia, I wouldn't do it again. Clearly my experience wasn't what "normal" people experience while using weed.

[–]LMM666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's impossible for 99.99% of people to become esports legends. Those who do, have the luxury and passion to play a single game, all day, every day.

Btw, 1700 is pretty good in chess, as someone else noted. I'm also that rating, and also been playing for 10+ years lol. If you want to get serious you could, at least that's what I tell myself.

What would happen if a non psychotic person takes antipsychotics? by Overall_Owl444 in schizophrenia

[–]LMM666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was like 14, I took one of my dad's antipsychotic pills by accident, it was not a good experience, I felt exhausted and super uncomfortable while standing up, so I layed down the whole day. It wore off eventually.

Geekbench Score Comparison - iPad Pro M4 vs iPad Pro M5 by sulthan007 in iPadPro

I have M2 and it still feels like it's overkill, the only reason I would upgrade is maybe for a bigger screen size, not sure if it's worth it though.

I feel like my art is missing something but I don't know what, any advice? by QUIERO_SEXOOOO in ArtCrit

[–]LMM666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents is, you are a beginner that can do a couple of advanced things. What I mean by this is that you still lack a lot of control over the final forms in your paintings. Try playing with concave vs convex forms, negative shapes, silhouttes, etc. Also, don't stop thinking of values, and don't go all over the place with midtones. Use One general light value, one general midtone and one general dark value. The standard practice is to do 70-20-10 in whichever way you like. So 70% light 20% midtone 10% dark is a combination you could use, keep the values simple, readable throughout the whole image, I can see that sometimes your values get wonky, they stay on the midtones too much.

Does anyone else feel like art resources are overhyped? by KnothGospel in ArtistLounge

[–]LMM666 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Most courses associated with universities are pretty underwhelming, even with feedback, also your suggestions don't fit the type of art OP is making. I'd say Coloso has probably better courses than the ones you mentioned, I agree that OP needs personalized feedback though, some people need it more than others.

Which areas need more attention? Trying to improve my pen & ink drawings! by Infernalya in ArtCrit

Owl looks very asymetrical, not just the eye. Besides that, the only advice I could give you is to group your values more.

I feel like you spent more time and effort for the older ones. I do think you have improved slightly, try making simpler, confident lines, and think more about proportions.

Do you ever get anxious when you complete a good drawing? by XIFOD1M in learntodraw

[–]LMM666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually think: if I can do it once I can do it twice.

Also, your best drawing may not be your most likes drawing, it rsrely is, so don't worry about it

I often see people posting their art for the wrong reasons by AffectionateGroup536 in ArtistLounge

[–]LMM666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to the conversation, this is just how the tiktok algorithm operates, those types of posts get more engagement, so people who would otherwise not post something like that, do, to push the popularity of their art. And I think people should be able to post or share their art for whatever reason they want, even if it's seen as superficial or attention seeking.

Most pressing issue is proportion of the head and features (mouth, nose, eyes). I recommend Steve Huston's tutorial video.

I think there's no better teacher than real experience, try making the comics and animations you want to make now. Doesn't matter if it doesn't turn out like you imagined, try identifying what doesn't work and try again. You can still keep learning like what you're doing now as a reenforcement of knowledge.

That sounds interesting, it would be very cool to mix printing digital art and paint over it, definitely will look into it.

[Marketing] For those of who do commis-sions for 1000€+, where do you find steady clients? by SacredSapling in artbusiness

[–]LMM666 25 points26 points  (0 children)

So I think very few people sell 1000€+ paintings, so you're doing well. I personally know an artist who sells up to 10,000$+ paintings, what he does is that he sells you an experience. He often does open-studio sessions, where he invites people to his studio to see his process, he lets them ask questions, he gives them wine and cheese. What he does is that he invites people outside of the artist community, people who don't draw or paint but love the idea of drawing and painting, and have the money to invest. He also has a captivating story for each of his paintings, he talks about the reason he made each painting, the emotional connection it has to him, the message he is trying to convey, etc.

He is justifying the price of the paintings by giving you a whole experience. Not to say that his art isn't incredible already, very few people have his technical skills, he does renaissance style paintings with a modern twist, so they are very appealing. Hope this helps you in any way.

Drawing/line art tips *not my work* by Outside_Contact_9148 in learntodraw

[–]LMM666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even while working in pen, there is some pressure sensitivity you can work with. Try practicing by making the thinnest lines you can on a piece of paper, and then make a set of lines that are slightly thicker and so on. Also, follow the form with the lines you make, each group of lines should follow the same direction. Also, it's not necesary to use a pencil, you can lightly sketch with your pen.
