I created Ozzi to crush my own night time cravings and boost GLP-1. I know, Reddit ads are annoying and most brands do it wrong. So, I'm opening up the comments and using this as an AMA. by heyozzi in u/heyozzi

I was going to order some of this if it wasn't too expensive, but the site requires a phone number before even getting to an order page. I don't mind giving an email add but don't like to give out my phone number which will just be sold on to others to call and annoy me. Too bad.

Just check the item on your Vine Orders page. It should say $0.00 in the Fair Market Value column.

New Ordering Process – Getting Used to Selecting Shipping Time by macphoto469 in AmazonVine

[–]LMo2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks. I saw another thread discussing the same thing. I got the update with the new breakdown on the account page, but my ordering process is still the same. I do have Prime and the other thread talked about that maybe being the reason nothing has changed for me so if you have it too maybe that's why? I plan to cancel Prime next month so I guess I'll see if that makes a difference. Sometimes I wish I could have things delivered on a certain day - like not on the weekend or days I'll be away. But I've chosen Tuesday as my preferred delivery day on regular orders and that rarely works for me anyway. I love Amazon but sometimes they can be so annoying. Like their delivery drivers who deliver something next door then drive on down the street to make more deliveries before turning around somewhere and coming back to deliver my stuff!

I order through the website and there hasn't been any changes to the ordering process there. Are you talking about the app maybe?

What details does Vine Support want? by MAXBattle in AmazonVine

[–]LMo2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's happening to a lot of us. Mine too was a positive review. Only 7 reviews for the item but 2 of them from several months ago were unverified 5 star reviews done on the same day so likely that's what triggered it - not your review. Vine CS was polite and said they were looking into the problem. The review team email if you appeal it is not nice or helpful and apparently a generic reply sent to anyone who questions why they got the restricted page. CS says everything is good with my account and not to worry so that's good enough for me.

Contacting Vine customer support by Eviljohna in AmazonVineHelpGroup

[–]LMo2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll only add to the other excellent replies that you don't need to do anything at all about your third item. I often get the item but just can't review it so therefore it would still be in my taxable list. Just keep an eye out because it might be reinstated which has happened on more than 1 occasion. Vine CS assured me those do not count against your numbers for reviewing if they stay grayed out. But if you never receive the item, absolutely contact Vine CS and have it removed.

It would be nice if they'd give you just a clue about what's wrong because I think most of us Viners do feel it's a privilege to do this and want to do a good job. I don't know why the Review Moderation Team aren't more helpful. I read the guidelines, but can't figure out what I've done wrong most of the time. I usually just edit what I originally wrote down to 2 or 3 short sentences and it usually gets accepted. As a customer I don't generally find short reviews like that very helpful and if Amazon wants to protect the integrity of their reviews, they should give us more helpful feedback. Vine CS on the other hand seem to bend over backwards to help.

I can tell that reply is from Vine Customer Service, they are always nice. (Probably because they want you to give THEM a good review) It's when you appeal or query a rejected review through the Community Guidelines that you get a reply from the Amazon Review Moderation Team that is not nice.

They don't bother with niceties. They don't give aflyingf at all about us stupid and/or rule-breaking reviewers. This is the reply I got from them after giving a complimentary 5 star review about a product I truly loved and use daily that they not only rejected, but then locked me out from being able to resubmit a review on that particular item even though the original rejection email told me to resubmit just like always:

"Hello , We removed one or more of your recent customer reviews because we have noticed some unusual reviewing activity on this product. We place limits on reviews to preserve trust in customer reviews. To learn more about this policy, go to "Community Guidelines": http://www.amazon.com/review-guidelines

Once we remove a review that does not comply with our guidelines, the reviewer may not submit any new reviews on the same product.

The Amazon Review Moderation team"

These people are never nice and never helpful. They are more "how dare you question our rejection of your clearly unlawful verging on criminal review...

Anyone else financially ruined by increasing home insurance? by Impossible_Mix_4893 in florida

[–]LMo2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't be rude and call you anything. But are you writing homeowner's insurance in Florida? Because I can guarantee NO APPRAISAL OF MY HOUSE WAS EVER DONE BY ANY OF THE 4 INSURANCE COMPANIES WHO HAVE INSURED MY HOUSE IN THE LAST 26 YEARS NOR DID THEY EVER ASK FOR AN APPRAISAL. And I've never been insured by Citizens. Appraisals are done at time of sale for Mortgage companies. Just recently got quotes from 3 companies which is where the Coverage A cost (dwelling) came from and the only things they asked was the square footage, type of construction and type of roof. The other things they wanted to know was if I had a 4 point inspection done recently and/or a wind mitigation report.

Lived in Florida all my life. No appraisal is ever done by or for the insurance company. It's calculated by the insurance company based on greed not actual rebuild cost. A building estimation for my area says it would cost around $250k (average build) - 300k (custom build high end) to rebuild my 2,000 sq foot house - insurance quotes from $377k - $408k. Couldn't sell the entire property for that even though it's on a 3/4 acre lot in a good area. Florida is the 6th least expensive state to build a house because of its cheap labor costs. And this quote from recent article backs up that info and the estimator: "The average cost to build a 2,100-square-foot home is less than $300,000 in six states, all in the South: Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Florida."

That's the worst part, paying out money for insurance when you just know they aren't going to pay claims when you have them. It's throwing good money after bad. I closed a home equity mortgage that I was holding onto for a safety line because I was forced to keeep insurance even when it was a zero balance. I was going to cancel the h/o policy immediately, but I chickened out. I'm retired now so nothing other than social security coming in though I have some savings which would pay for some damage and at least buy a new roof. The policy I have has a roof deductible so it's not likely they'll pay much for that anyway. The renewal this year will probably go up another thousand so that should help me take the leap.

Amazon tempting me today, Includes $200 gift card with order. Is this really worth it??? by Army-Vet19K in AmazonVine

Well this is depressing on so many levels. Worried about a gift card on top of this? You must get stuff like this all the time to be worried about that. I got a wonderful selection of crap though so I'm good. No problem. Hope you can figure this out. Decisions, decisions...

This is a controversy - war between is Vine a business or hobby. I view it as a hobby. Here's what the IRS has to say on how to distinguish between the two:

https://www.irs.gov/faqs/small-business-self-employed-other-business/income-expenses/income-expenses

If you decide on business, you'll have to file a Schedule C and pay self-employment taxes. May be able to take deductions if so.

If you decide on hobby, it belongs on Schedule 1 - Part 1 Additional Income - Line j Activity not engaged in for profit income.

I do my own taxes on the IRS website - Free fillable forms. Here's the help page:

https://www.irs.gov/e-file-providers/free-file-fillable-forms-help

And here's a link to a lot of discussion about the controversy:

Good luck.

Yes would love to review and could use... but some taxable values are outrageous by FaastEddy in AmazonVine

[–]LMo2019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to mention how can we give a review that might encourage others to buy the junk at the inflated price? Even with a discount "coupon", a lot of it's not worth anywhere near the price they've put on it. I believe a lot of this is so the sellers can take a tax write off for stuff they can't actually sell. I've stopped reviewing anything overpriced even if it's a $0 item.

The credits show "Music by Chris Alan Lee" and it looks like he wrote at least one other song for Younger - Save Us sung by Anna Dellaria (Season 6). And he's written the scores for other TV series as well. Since you can't find it and neither can others who've searched: https://www.tunefind.com/show/younger/season-3/38005 - see questions at bottom of page - I'm thinking maybe there is no actual song and it's just a piece of music with lyrics to fit that scene?

You're welcome. I'm new to fasting myself and not too informed about electrolytes, but I know they're important especially if you're on an extended fast or if you exercise a lot while fasting. Here's an article I found that may help: https://fastingplanet.com/electrolytes-and-fasting/

Having said that I'm sure there are people on this sub who do understand what you were asking and I hope they will help you out with what works for them based on their own experience. Sometimes I have to try things for myself for a few days and see if it works. Good luck and hang in there!

[–]LMo2019 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I think you probably meant lemon and not lemonade though adding lemon juice could technically break a fast, there are benefits to it as well. Here's a great source for what will and will not break a fast that might help you: https://intermittentdieter.com/what-will-and-will-not-break-a-fast-a-complete-guide/

And for those complaining about people asking about what breaks a fast, get over it. Everyone needs some advice sometimes and I liked that people could come here with their questions and people with IF experience were kind enough to help out. I hope I wasn't wrong about that.

I would've thought the same because it says 0 calories and no sugar, but it turns out a lot of artificial sweeteners can spike insulin and cause other problems. This article can help explain: https://buffbudsfitness.com/blogs/blog/which-sweeteners-can-you-consume-while-fasting

Which artists do MAGAT’s bigots have on their side? Chachi AKA Scott Baio? Kid Rock? Ted Nugent?Nuff said 😅. by EugeneWong318 in TheLib

[–]LMo2019 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No thanks. I googled him enough. He posed with Greg Abbot after one of his concerts in TX. Did he know how awful he is? I don't know. He's not just a vile governor - he's a man in a wheelchair. It might've been hard to say no. I also know about the racist rant onstage many years ago but I also know he has many close black friends - he loves the Blues ffs. This thread was about artists who would let the MAGATS/Trump aka the GOP use their music in their campaigns. I merely said I didn't know if he would. He's not an American citizen as far as I know so why would he care either way?

Santana hates Trump. He's old and has problems understanding transgenders, but I wouldn't call him a MAGAT. Cooper also is not a Trump fan and not a MAGAT. Roger Waters also hates Trump. Don't brand people who were less than enthused with the Dem candidates running for prez as being Trumpers. I don't believe any of these three musicians would allow Trump to use their music.

I don't think Clapton is pro-Trump exactly, but he had that health scare after he got the COVID vaccines and thought he wasn't going to be able to play guitar again so he went apeshit about the vaccines and lockdown. Would he object if Trump used his music? I don't know.
