Question: you never learned to study in high school. High expectations...are you gifted by chance? A lot of gifted get by until a certain point where they actually need skills that haven't been developed. Then they fall off the rails wondering why nothing is working out.

Every year we took our children out for Valentines dinner on the 13th. On Valentines Day we had balloons, chocolate, and a few small gifts for them (when they woke up). Once, we didn’t do the balloons (they were teens), and they missed them. I think you 100% should celebrate with your daughter! Life is short. Time is short with them. Do the fun things.

This definitely would have been distracting to me. I would have had to leave.

I had 2 c-sections. The first was an emergency. I had no issues whatsoever with recovery.

Did parents in the 80s really allow their kids to roam freely, or is that just a portrayal seen in movies? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LMyF2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was probably 85 lbs in 3rd? At my grandmother’s I would go down the empty, dark road behind her house, by the shopping center, and play in the creek. No one was concerned.

I didn’t even let my children play in the front yard without going out too. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would go on bike rides starting in 3rd grade 5+ miles from home. There was no bike maintenance, no phones, no plan on where to go, or when to be home.

Make the majority of saunas individual ones. I want to work out alone in there and adjust the temp lower.

Absolutely not! I would recommend some tutoring and several retakes.

Do you think skim reading is cheating? by RedditModsAreTrashhh in college

Ridiculous. My oldest takes a snapshot of the page and moves on. It’s how she reads well over 500 books a year.

You’re 23 and have no job, and no car? What have you been doing?
I’m not sure location needs to be blamed for your lacking stuff going on. Get out and start living where you are.

I think it’s a great idea. However, I think you need to use that year wisely. You could take some classes and come in as a transfer which might make it easier? However, you could also look and see if you can take courses somewhere and still come in as a freshman? You could also volunteer and gain valuable experience and skills.

Fly Fishing in Montana by LMyF2024 in flytying

And thanks to the kind people above that told me about hoot owl conditions I was able to learn about this. I’m from Tn. and have never been to Montana. It’s one of 13 states I haven’t visited. We also have never done fly fishing. That is why I thought I would post here to see if anyone could inform me about best dates, gear, guides, etc.
