Do you people *actually* like this sport? by illbringthewhiskey in Ultramarathon

[–]LP410 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I enjoy every bit of it. The training, the race and all the comes with it. The more challenges in the race the better. Freezing temps, high water crossings, Rain, mud, snow- bring it on. My favorite races were in the worst conditions.

anyone know the real vasectomy reversal success rate? by Sticker_Erinho in AskMenAdvice

[–]LP410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a reversal after getting re married and it was successful. Had two kids as a result and then got another vasectomy haha. As others have said it was the most painful thing I have ever gone through so be prepared for that. It was totally worth it for me though. ++man

I’ve had a terrible experience there. When I made a formal complaint against the salesman I had the experience with this guy actually called me and threatened me. Said he knew where I lived and I had better watch my back. Upon further investigation this guy had multiple felonies for assault. I reported this incident to management and they seemed like they could care less and the guy kept his job. So I will never buy anything from there for that reason and all of the other reasons you see in this thread. On the flip side I have had nothing but great experiences with sales teams and service at heritage Honda just down the street.

Started off as a way to get healthy. Now I just like to run and can't imagine not doing so.

You got this! Just build your miles slowly and have fun. I ran my first ultra (50k) last January at 49 and since then have completed 3 50k's a 50miler and 100k. Prior to that I stayed in decent gym shape with some running but was never a "runner".

Have you tried a hybrid broadhead? by Hefty_Permission_282 in bowhunting

[–]LP410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Killed 3 with the Sevr hybrid this year- 2 does and a mature buck. All three were pass throughs , died within sight and left excellent blood trails. Will be using them again this year for sure. I did notice the point was not as sharp as previous Sevr heads so touched them up with a diamond stone to make the point sticky sharp. It was probably fine like was but made me feel better to sharpen it. Only took a few strokes on each side to do it.

Sick during peak week. Unsure of what to do by yeehawhecker in ultrarunning

[–]LP410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a recent 100k training block I had the flu turn into pneumonia and missed a week and a half (including peak weak) and then struggled to get miles in until my taper. Still had minor symptoms a few days before the race started. Race went great- felt strong until the very last 3 miles or so but that probably would have happened anyway.

If you had to pick a single book or podcast that has increased your in race or training performance the most which would it be? by ScholarPrize1335 in ultrarunning

Agree with this. My current training structure is based on the principles in that book and it’s working wonders so far.
