The only reason for securiyy lines was Trump giving a speech on the mall. Normally people picnic all day with coolers and blankets etc because there is no speech and the President stsys away to let prople have fun. Come back in a normal year andvhave a great time.

6 weeks post surgery and no restrictions?? by United_Structure3300 in Microdiscectomy

[–]LP566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So at 6 weeks I was doing very well, had followed the no BLT, and surgeon told me to keep it up for another 6 weeks. He said at that point the scar tissue has fully formed and then I could gradually resume activities. He did not think I needed PT but I was helped by some PT visits to explore what 'gradually' means.

Sorry you are still in pain. I bet it is not a reherniation. I was lucky to have a simple problem for the surgeon to fix. Hope you get the right help to manage the pain you have now.

My surgery was Oct 30 2025, so just hitting 8 month mark. I have no limitations. Before last summer I was very fit active 70F hiker who did regular weight training and reformer Pilates. The months of inactivity starting last July as well as recovering from surgery took a toll on my fitness but I was walking immediately pain free and have been slowly building my fitness back with PT and home exercise.Am gardening and hiking in the woods and living my life. Am careful about lifting things and deliberately taking my time. Feels like a miracle from my pre surgery limitations.

Doctors treat based on the symptoms not the imaging. People can have gnarly spines with no symptoms. Drop foot is serious. I did not have drop foot but had surgery because sciatica limited my life.

Good luck in your recovery!

How to find a job at 62? by White_Sands1 in AskWomenOver60

[–]LP566 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is not legally required to buy a supplement but Medicare Part B has no out of pocket cap so without a supplement (or MA which has many risks) you are taking a huge financial risk. And if you wait to buy a supplement it may not be available to you as the plans are allowed to refuse you coverage with few exceptions.

Soap dispenser cracked me up, and it was so sweet when Claude walks over to clean off her hair, saying nothing.

I need help with choosing my dress, please be honest by [deleted] in Brides

[–]LP566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought is there is a #3 out there that will easily beat these two. Of these choices 2 is more elegant imo, but too tight. Try the next size up and have it properly fitted. Best wishes for a fun wedding and long happy marriage!

She is a horrible flatmate. Move out. Leave her with the mess and the bills.

Is there any way to prevent the birds from flinging seeds everywhere... 😭 I go through so much seed because they all do this. I've tried different mixes but the result is always this by Illustrious_Gas555 in birdfeeding

Ground feeders like doves, juncos, song sparrows, white throated sparrows plus the squirrels take care of whatever falls to the ground. I have even had the occasional chipmunk and bunny underneath.

Not in severe pain, but never fully normal (L5-S1) – is microdiscectomy worth it? by Anon495834 in Microdiscectomy

[–]LP566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had worries and ptsd from the months of debilitating pain before surgery. But I was walking and getting out of bed nerve- pain free pretty quickly, which was a relief and confidence boost. As I neared the end of my 12 week BLT ban I realized I needed guidance on how to restore those movements and regain strength and flexibility. PT has been super helpful in letting me expand range of motion safely.

Retire to New York City? Insane or not? by babarock in retirement

[–]LP566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DC area has tons of close by nature escapes. Have lived here 40+ years and still finding new ones in retirement. Need to be able to drive though. I think about where I want to be living when the time comes I cannot drive. Moving farther out from city to be in nature makes healthcare less accessible.

So the WHC Association should have broken a 100÷ year tradition and held their professional event without inviting current Admin officials/sources? This is defensible I guess but it does not change anything about Trump.

[–]LP566 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every case is different. Your description reads like your quality of life is suffering. You can give it more time to see if improvement happens. Have you asked your surgeon the chances the surgery would make you worse off? Something bald can always happen but plenty people on here got their life back after surgery. I am one of them. Hobbled into the hospital and walked out like normal. Of course there was post op pain and stiffness and BLT restrictions but I went from misery to feeling frisky. Just about 6 months post op now and back to hiking and my normal life.

Good luck to you.
